Thailand's image as a sun-soaked haven was marred once again after a pair of Polish tourists were caught embracing and sunbathing completely nude on Koh Pha Ngan, sparking outrage among locals. The incident, occurring today, has intensified demands for stricter measures against unruly tourist conduct as the nudist escapade unfolded before bewildered onlookers and involved police intervention.

 

The couple, identified as Mr Michal, 27, and Ms Claudia, 24, stunned passers-by when spotted standing unabashedly nude on a public road, seemingly heedless of traffic. Their audacious display prompted locals to notify authorities, who engaged police forces that soon arrived to confront the brazen tourists.

 

 

 

Yet, the couple's exhibitionist antics continued shortly after, as they lounged naked on Ban Kai Beach, astonishing families enjoying the sunshine. Authorities swiftly instructed them to cover up, arresting the individuals under Thai law forbidding public indecency.

 

Transported to Koh Pha Ngan Police Station, the couple now face charges of public obscenity. Nudism is normal in many countries.. Here in Thailand however they are very conservative and they shame for seeing someone nude.. However we were all born nude and there are only 2 kinds.. men and women.. FKK is in Germany normal and several EU countries have beaches and places were naturists and nudists can be themselves.. Instead of talking about scandals, Thailand should open beaches for nudists and naturists too.. All about tourism, but only Queeen Victoria style.. Even swimming in Tshirts and shorts, as bikini and swimmingslip can be annoying.. But on the other hand Thailand is full of sex.. How do they do that.... with all clothes on??

I do not see the problem here other than scaring the people unfortunate enough to have witnessed them without clothing. 

Phuket needs to segregate a section of beach and make it for nudism since this seems to be trending there lately. How else can these foreigners expose themselves without netizens complaining?

Other countries may well embrace nudity and provide nudist beaches.. so they can go there for a holiday.

The only way a nude beach could work here would have to be Thai style. Each section of the beach would have its own mammasan plying her own rules for being allowed to lay naked.  For instance you have to buy her sunblock and her massage therapist has to massage it on your private parts then after you enjoyed that you can lay on the beach and buy her Leo’s but recommend to buy her one too.

From the article it appears that the couple had already been warned when they were on the road but shortly after took off their clothes when they were on the beach. Sorry to say, these young foreigners suffer from a combination of arrogrance, lack of awareness, and dumbness! Most people of average intelligence woud keep thier clothes on after being told by a group of armed policemen in a foreign country. I konw I would and I'm no Einstein!

Now we are there again with hypocrisy and sanctimony. Your usual vocabulary, Richard. However, it doesn´t matter to me. You can post what you want. I will still have the opinion, that all that post like you to bring out the worst of Thailand, can just look for better places to stay, where they fit much better. Thailand has always been like you describe it, and that´s why many members of this forums old guard came here to start with. The famous bar scene and the easy sex. However, it has never been ok to engage in such acts or even stand kiss each other in public. That´s how the culture is built, and all that can´t grasp that or accept it, does not belong here. so, just keep on posting about everything you find weird or disgraceful and wrong. Up to you. That´s how things work here, and that´s how it always worked.
