PR question : Should I apply for work or family?

Featured Replies

I am married with Thai wife, a child. Been living in Thailand for a long time. I am applying for PR before the 15th this month.

My extension is based on non-b. Can I apply with family or must be work as my extension is based on working?

Thank you.

Thank you.

As long as you meet the requirements - such as 3 years paying Thai taxes on non-imm extensions, that part is covered.  You have to show a salary for that time in Thailand, regardless - and the higher, the better.

If applying based on family, the fee is 1/2, but you have to provide "family" paperwork - not just work-based paperwork - and may include DNA test to prove parentage (if you have Thai children).

Many have said going for citizenship requires nearly the same effort, if married to a Thai - worth looking into, if you have not already.  Those who are not married to a Thai must get PR prior to citizenship.
