No, I prefer to be hoodwinked in perpetuity. It's a feel good thing...

The Prime Minister also announced an upcoming 'Mind Month' to promote mental wellness, underscoring the need for emotional health and positivity amidst the controversies.

Translated:

"If you don't believe me, you obviously need mental health care."

The possibility of the truth emitting from her lips on this particular subject is zero, the family are not fooling anyone except themselves.

Nope

I think first she would need to know what truth is versus the typically spun word salad that offers no facts and avoids reality. The level of entitlement they display is always amazing.

The Thaksin's are the most divisive family in Thailand who lie and cheat to maintain and increase the massive  wealth accrued by shady politics.

You forgot to mention that he was fine when he landed in Thailand. His sickness came very rapidly after he was sent to jail (and probably hit him before he even managed to see inside his cell).

yes, it was a remarkable recovery. Nothing short of a miracle.

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra addressed ongoing concerns regarding former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra's extended stay at the Police General Hospital, where he has been hospitalised on the 14th floor since returning to Thailand. Speaking to the press on Tuesday, Paetongtarn indicated that she has not received the Medical Council's request for information about Thaksin’s hospital stay.

When questioned about any possible foreknowledge of Thaksin's medical condition, the Prime Minister remarked, "If I told you the truth, would you believe me?" She confirmed, however, that Thaksin is indeed unwell and recently underwent surgery.

The discourse comes amidst impending legal proceedings where the Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Political Office Holders has summoned Thaksin to testify on June 13. This inquiry looks into whether his hospitalisation is an attempt to evade incarceration following his royal pardon-reduced one-year prison sentence for corruption-related charges.

Paetongtarn dismissed theories about potential political motives aimed at disrupting coalition dynamics, asserting that the court's actions reflect procedural due process rather than speculative manoeuvres. She stated confidently that Thaksin would present the necessary evidence to clarify the situation.

Touching on public scepticism over Thaksin’s health claims and alleged preferential treatment, Paetongtarn added, "People who doubt will continue to doubt, regardless of the evidence presented." She emphasised the need for resilience, highlighting her father's advancing age and slower recovery, saying, "Our family has been through a lot. We must stay strong."

This scenario follows Thaksin’s return to Thailand in August 2023 after 15 years of self-exile, coupled with his immediate hospital admission, raising eyebrows and triggering a slew of petitions for official scrutiny. While previous petitions were dismissed, the high court's current investigation signals a serious reconsideration of prior dismissals, commanding involved parties to provide evidence justifying the hospitalisation.

Apart from medical and judicial aspects, this case holds potential implications for public trust in Thailand’s justice system, as it could influence perceptions of the Pheu Thai Party, Thaksin’s political faction, and its ongoing friction with the conservative establishment.

As the legal proceedings move forward, the outcome could reverberate across factional lines, shaping Thailand's political landscape and public sentiment. The Prime Minister also announced an upcoming 'Mind Month' to promote mental wellness, underscoring the need for emotional health and positivity amidst the controversies.

what does this have to do with his time that was supposedly in prison and then in prison hospital? She is deflecting from the problem people see as corruption in the system and abused by Thaksin

The word salad prodcued by The Thaiger and AseanNow is absolutely appalling.

That clealry suggests that he is still in hospital, and is a cut and paste from a time when he still was.

When questioned about any possible foreknowledge of Thaksin's medical condition, the Prime Minister remarked, "If I told you the truth, would you believe me?" She confirmed, however, that Thaksin is indeed unwell and recently underwent surgery.

That is another cut and paste from when he was in hospital, and had indeed undergone some minor surgery, something to do with a shoulder I seem to remember.

The discourse comes amidst impending legal proceedings where the Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Political Office Holders has summoned Thaksin to testify on June 13.

That is the only bit of up to date news, and tells us nothing.

The country knows it was a total stitch up otherwise he would never ever have returned to Thailand like his sister he would of remained living abroad
