So apparently we’re meant to believe Trump’s sittin’ round waiting on a much-anticipated call from Xi Jinping to beg for the tariff deal of the century, like China’s gonna crumble if they don’t ring. The bloke's acting like some lovelorn mug in a rom-com who’s been ghosted after drinks at Nando’s. “He’s gonna call. Any minute now folks. Big call. Beautiful call, the likes of which the world has never seen before.” Mate, Xi ain’t calling. Xi’s blocked your number and is currently live-streaming dumpling tutorials while your lot scurries round the Oval Office clutchin’ a satellite phone and a gallon of hope.

 

And yet Trump’s out here actin’ like he’s still running the table. “We don’t need to sign deals,” he says. “We’re in talks.” With who, mate? The microwave? Cos China’s official word-for-word stance is, “We’re not talkin’ to that bloke.” It’s like a breakup that only happened in his head. “We agreed to take space.” No you didn’t, she’s off dating the BRICS now, and you’re still sending her tariff playlists and passive-aggressive press releases.

 

Anyway, I’m down the pub the other night when some geezer in a MAGA red cap made in China pipes up, reckons Trump’s got Xi right where he wants him and says to me: “China’s beggin’ for a deal, mate. Trump’s playin’ hardball.” I nearly choked on my pint and shot it out me nose. Hardball? The man’s playin’ Hungry Hungry Hippos with one marble and callin’ it chess. If this is strategy, I’m the Queen of Sheba. Next he’ll say Xi’s radio silence is actually a sign of respect. Nah, mate. It’s just the sound of the world crackin’ on while your boy waits by the phone like a wet wipe.

 

And the best part? These lads think Trump’s got a plan. Like there’s a flowchart somewhere titled “World Tariff Domination” with arrows pointing to “Wait by phone,” “Deny reality,” and “Blame Hunter's laptop.” One bloke tells me, dead serious, “Trump’s just wearin’ ’em down.” Wearin’ ’em down? Really, mate? China’s building railways through mountains while you lot are arguin’ whether tariffs cause inflation or are just a misunderstood vibe. If Trump’s wearin’ anyone down, it’s his own economy, like sandpaperin’ your face and callin’ it exfoliation. Keep waitin’ on that call, lads. Maybe next time, Xi’ll post you a sympathy card and all the tea in China.

Trump has severely overestimated the influence of the US, and nations around the world are just saying NO to his highly obnoxious bullying! The US needs China. Badly. Yessir I agree.  Yesterday he makes this big announcement about the "first deal done!" with the UK - which BTW was one of the few trade deals that the US sold more to the UK than the UK sold to the US.  Then after he announces 20 times or so how great a deal this new one with the UK is great for both countries, we learn that well nothing is written yet!  it may take a few weeks for the written version to come about so still negotiating I guess.  What a total IDIOT!  Then he talks about when he was a kid riding around NYC in his dad's Rolls Royce so says will not tarif that as he wants Americans to buy that luxury car - now how many Americans can even afford to buy any new car right now especially a RR!  So what is the latest - American automobile manufacturers, dealers, etc screaming that here Trump will let RR in without the tariff while American cars will only increase in prices!  Every day something new and not pretty for Trump nor his Magaites.  Wonder how long it is going to take for them to realize they have been sold down the proverbial path to poverty?  Oh yeah meanwhile the Trump family in the 3 wonths of this term have increased their wealth by almost 3 billion dollars with deals on high-rises in Qatar and Saudi and whatever coin they are buying today!

Meanwhile Chinese manufacturers / clever Chinese business people are talking to many other countries and making sales / gaining income with nice margins but not playing tariff games. China doing well and it will continue whilst ignoring trump.

I'm amazed that some people here (and in America) can't work out where this goes.

 

America is in the process of losing its empire.  Why? Because the most trusted nation on earth can no longer be trusted.

 

I saw a tiktok type video the other day.  A small business in the USA importing blank T-shirts, printing and selling them thought China would pay the tariffs.  He hasn't yet understood that he will pay the tariffs. He will have to increase his prices so Americans will pay the tariffs

 

Trade is currently down 35% and forecast to be down 65% shortly.  Shelves are starting to empty.  Trump thinks he can continue exporting all over the world.  Where are the containers going to come from?  Normally, containers for export reuse the ones for import, and so the cycle goes on.  There are few available containers to export.

 

Let's look at trade between 3 countries.

 

Canada exports oil to the USA, now subject to tariffs.

The UK imports oil from America

 

It doesn't take a genius to work out the UK will stop buying US oil and instead buy it from Canada.  You won't see this announced in the news, but it's already happening all over the world.

 

Trading partnerships are already changing, slowly, imperceptibly.  There is only one loser, the USA.  Why? Because the most trusted nation on earth can no longer be trusted.

 

Trump said he won't necessarily respond to a call under article 5 of NATO.  Do you think the other NATO members will simply sit back?  There will be a new alliance.  Why? Because the most trusted nation on earth can no longer be trusted.

 

BRICS members want to replace the dollar as the worldwide currency of trade.  Trump has handed that to them on a plate.    More than likely to be the Japanese Yen or even Euro. Why? Because the most trusted nation on earth can no longer be trusted.

 

 

Everyone now is in favour  of a new world order, Trump wants a new world order too.  Join the dots up guys, there will be a new world order, but it's one where America is largely insignificant compared to the past.

 

China won't blink, they don't need to blink.  They have spent the last decade reducing their trade reliance with the USA and increasing it everywhere else.  Guys, have you heard of Lazada, Shopee, AliExpress, Temu?  Have you heard of the Belt & Road initiative?  None of these are coincidental.  China plans decades ahead.
