Toilet not "sucking" like it used to.

The toilet used to make a sucking sound at the end of the flush, now it doesn't do that and requires an extra couple of flushes to clear the bowl. Holding the handle down when flushing seems to help the flush. Pretty sure it's not blocked as everything does eventually disappear.

The toilet has worked well (until now) for 15 years, so maybe needs some kind of gasket kit in the cistern?

you should understand that it is full of crap!  that is why...someone just had to tell you I guess.  If your house has a cess pool, might need pumped out and draining.  If in a condo, somewhere along the drain might be being clogged up and will probably only get worse unless cleaned out.

Read my response, already said the septic was emptied a month ago.

if i have an excessive load that i've just dropped off i sometimes fill the top with an extra couple of inches of water to assist the beast in disappearing...

If cistern up to level as normal, check there’s not a leak on one of the fixings, where it could draw in air and not flush through as timely as normal.

Thinking a partial block, seeing you need to flush more than once. Happens to me once in awhile, even after they come and clear the tank. I bought a snake and it usually cleans it out quick. This happens especially if you're using toilet paper, as it shouldn't if you aren't.

I have never had a toilet for 15 years, so can´t help you, more than tell you it´s time for a new one.

Amazing you can hold it in that long.

Oh, Freddy. Of course you found my post. I know I have to explain a little bit better for you.

Let´s say like this, just for you: I never had the same toilet for 15 years, as I never posted I have been without toilet for 15 years.

Is it better now? Can we go on with our lives without any more misunderstandings from your side?

Why do you assume you have to explain things to me? I can't guess at your intelligence and can only go by what you say here, which does lead me to believe you seem to miss some things. This is what you said........."I have never had a toilet for 15 years, so can´t help you, more than tell you it´s time for a new one"............... This statement has everyone thinking you haven't had a toilet for 15 years.

I made a joke that maybe went over your head, so you came back assuming, again, I'm the one who's missing something. You have to be clear when you post here, so others don't misunderstand what you're saying. I understand some here aren't English speaking by first language, so I give them some slack, but when they get to assume, like you do, thinking it's I that needs clarification, I feel I have to set you straight. Sorry if you can't get that. .If you actually knew just how much I do know, you and Britman would run together, into the hills, and not look back because of the embarrassment I caused you.

I don't see in your original that the septic was emptied a month ago, but they may have clogged up the drains there

While I realise that English isn't your first language, and you make a lot of small errors which we should probably try to tolerate, it isn't great to get angry at others when it is your error that has led to a misunderstanding.

Yes, you have to try and understand, as we are on an international forum with people who are natives in very many different languages. That´s why one of the forum rules always been that you should not make fun of or point out spelling, grammar or other mistakes regarding language differences. But, of course, you stand above that. At least, that´s what you believe your nationality tells you.

I'll try to give you a serious and hopefully helpful response.

I believe that toilets can accumulate a build up of something on the insides of the pipe.  This leads to a not quite blockage, but it reduces the flow a lot.

It could be something like fat or oil that goes in there, maybe Thai food puts a lot of this in people's stools.  You can buy products that are designed to eat away built up fat within the pipe and clear the restriction.  I believe you can get them in supermarkets.

Be wary of the power of the stuff and where you put it.  You can get some milder stuff which you can leave over night and use multiple times.

Vanish has worked for me, along with he snake. It's safe on PVC also. I've had trouble with soaps hardening in the pipes here, and the only thing that worked was the snake.

Has your system got a vent pipe?

In the west it is mandatory....not so much in Thailand.

If you do have a vent, check and make sure a bird or something hasn't made a nest in it and causing a slight positive pressure in the system when you flush the toilet.
