Furthermore, trump called the new Syrian Pres "a young attractive, tough guy with a very strong past". That past was killing US troops as well as civilians, women and children. He was in Al Qaeda and the US put a $10 million bounty on his head.

The problem is that trump is a brainless moron and is incapable of rational thought or controlling his motormouth.

Moving on from the past and working for peace .

Syria , Saudi and USA making peace , it will alienate Iran

Did you actualy listen to what he said?  "We would strip it and install Air Force One material"  And that woud cost how much?

What's the point of taking this aircraft, lavishly decked out, then stripping all those furnishings out to replace with ...er...what's in the current aircraft?

Who is it that is dumb and moronic?

PH

The U.S Government would pay for that .

Trump then gets to keep the airplane

Presumably, then, the US Government would also pay to remove it all before handover?  And then be left without an Air Force One.

Meanwhile Trump openly flouts the Emoluments Clause of the constitution.

It is normal for inspection and service, as well airlines buys and sell airplanes. Not that uncommon. The special here is the adds ons that needs to be taken apart, searched, inspected and checked for wear and tear, and replaced.

A perfect example of why it's so hard to argue with the MAGA crowd. Their eloquence is just so intimidating.😄

Qatar's Gift to Trump Is Unsold Plane It's Been Trying to Dump for Years
Published May 15, 2025 at 6:07 AM EDT

The jet, a lavishly configured version of Boeing's largest passenger aircraft, has been lingering without a buyer since being put up for sale in 2020, according to aircraft listings and aviation analysts.

Despite its luxury interior, the plane has failed to find a buyer since being put on the market in 2020, according to a report from Forbes.

John Goglia, a former member of the National Transportation Safety Board, told Forbes that giving the 747-8 to the U.S. would allow the Qataris to avoid maintenance costs that were only getting higher—with the 747 fleet shrinking worldwide and fewer mechanics available who know how to work on them.

It gets better. The fact it was for sale isn't coincidental either.

But does it still have the Northrop Grumman AN/AAQ-24(V)N Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasure (LAIRCM) system installed?

The left is up in arms claiming MAGA gives a rat’s about the jet.

If it weren’t for lies, the left would have nothing to say at all.

Unless you were one of those voters who was working on one of the actual 747s being built as new AF1s to be told they were out of a job, as they don't need the plane now.

Laurer Loomer seemed a bit put out by it.

Ben Shapiro, I think he's one of them, banged on about it

Mark Levin was somewhat perturbed by reports that the President was getting a plane off people he considered evil incarnate.

Why is the left all the sudden concerned about Qatar? What about all the money they spend (over a billion) in our universities and all their lobbyists?

The lefts hates Israel and does Qatar. The left loved Qatar when they support Hamas and promote protests at American universities, now all the sudden they’re terrorist.

Too funny

What would you expect any decent lucid American to do when confronted with such obvious corruption?just ignore it?just roll over and give up?let trump turn our government into his personal piggy bank to run into the ground?as he betrays every American ideal?betrays the constitution and our allies?nope don’t think so.

How is Qatar donating a 747 to the US Air Force corruption?

Was it corruption when Qatar donated the billion dollar Al Udied base?

Former Air Force officials have said that they doubt the plane could be modified with all the necessary security features before the end of Mr. Trump's presidency.

But one also said the Air Force One is what the President says it is.

So maybe they can dispense with all those security features and Mr. Trump figures who needs all that stuff if he can't get the plane ready soon enough?

Did they not look at the same aircraft during the Biden administration?

What I read is that while Biden was still President, the AIrForce did a search on all non-commercial privately available 747-800 airplanes and they found 8 of which the Qatar was one.

I heard reporting that the Qataris offered it, but I do not know how true it is.

They likely did -- Qatar has been trying to sell it since 2020 and probably were the other 7.

Trump has said AF One is a prestige item and he is embarrassed with the old crate.

But he may be wanting to start off with a lemon needing huge overhaul.

I heard they were down to two, and gave one to (I think) Turkey. I heard this was the last one.

I think FedEx and UPS still use them. A surprising number are still flying.
