Turns out the Trump-maga and Mao-cultural revolution connection is actually a real thing

The similarities are strikingly obvious. The MAGA masses are easily manipulated and a cultural revolution is their dream.

I was surprised the idea took so long to enter the public sphere.

I started commenting about this long ago.

My feeling that there were similarities (obviously not exactly the same thing!) between the maga movement and Mao's cultural revolution.

I did this long before I had ever heard of or read any political analyst or pundit make that indeed rather controversial connection.

Of course every time I mentioned that here, maga types viciously insulted me personally as they always do when their dear cult leader is presented in any kind of negative way.

Well, my oh my, it turns out in recent months I started to hear the same thing on other media from various commentators.

And now this.

Many people in CHINA of all places, and they would know, are most definitely and clearly seeing the connection.

In China, some see the ghost of Mao as Trump upends America and the world | CNN

Hong KongCNN —

Ding Xueliang spent his early teenage years in China as a fervent believer and practitioner of Chairman Mao Zedong’s revolutionary ideals — but he never imagined those memories would one day be stirred by a sitting US president.

In 1966, at just 13 years old, the son of poor farmers became one of Mao’s Red Guards. He joined millions of young people across China to participate in the Cultural Revolution, a decade-long upheaval set off by an aging Mao to reassert his absolute control over the ruling Communist Party – with the stated goal of preserving communist ideology.

Nearly six decades later, Ding is a distinguished scholar of Chinese politics based in Hong Kong, with a PhD from Harvard and a career teaching about the catastrophic movement he embraced.

But in recent months, he has begun to see uncanny echoes of Mao’s Cultural Revolution in an unexpected place: Donald Trump’s America.

This is some serious low-level thinking.

He will never do so. This is so typical of the subform.

If you ask these leftist precisely what issues that they have with Trump it'll be just a bunch of whining and complaining as women often do

If you search the forum there was a thread asking precisely what problems people had with trump. This was pre-election. The thread went on for 10 pages yet no leftist could articulate anything whatsoever that they disliked about trump.

Lots of gay activist from broken families, never sorted themselves out, never became adults now they visit Thailand in rare moments in some of these posters don't visit at all. I dare say there are posters on this form that have never been to Thailand. Peter Pan's

Why would you expect any better? Consider the source. He's have the main sources of low quality posts on this forum. If you have any doubt just go back into his posting history and have a look.

And the only time he makes the least bit of sandwiches when he's discussing his social security problems

Maoism is a political ideology rooted in the communist theories of Mao Zedong, a Chinese revolutionary leader. It's characterized by a focus on peasant-based revolution, the use of guerrilla warfare, and the importance of collective action and self-reliance. Maoism, also sometimes referred to as Marxism-Leninism-Maoism (MLM) or Marxist-Leninist, emphasizes the role of the masses and the need for a revolutionary transformation of society.

This is 100% a leftist ideology.

Obviously entirely missed by JT in race to bait the forum.

No cultural revolution is underway in the US of those in the center and right of center. It’s happening in the extreme left and it’s sucking in those left of center. Enjoy your USA communist revolution attempt.

Lefties don't understand that THEY were the revolutionaries. The present-day Right are the counter-revolutionaries, trying to reinstate traditional normality and morality in a society that has been overwhelmed by debased Marxist collectivist ideology for 60 years.

Most Leftist's strongest personal trait is cognitive dissonance. Only by doing comprehensive and complicated mental gymnastics could one conclude that the restoration of traditional societal values practiced for millenia is a bad idea.:coffee1:

I'm not sure you should use the word "garbage". Some might say this is what the entirety of your post are.

Brilliant rewrite of "I know you are but what am I".

Congratulations.
