Two Cambodian nationals have filed a police complaint on 14 May, against a well-known Thai vocational-style influencer and his associates, accusing them of physically assaulting them inside a prominent shopping mall in the Samrong area. The victims insist they did nothing wrong and deny any links to a gang known as “BK Khmer”.

The incident reportedly occurred around 16:00 on 11 May, on the fifth floor of the mall, where the two men were sitting peacefully outside a drinks shop. According to their account, the influencer, recognised online for his association with Thai vocational subculture, approached them with a group of five to six individuals.

One of the victims, speaking at Samrong Nuea Police Station, claimed the group grabbed him by the neck, forced him into a chair, and repeatedly punched him in the face. His younger brother, who was with him, was allegedly slapped and kicked, suffering injuries in the process.

“I asked them, ‘What did I do wrong?’” the older brother recounted. “One of them asked if we were part of the BK Khmer group. I said no, but they wouldn’t listen. They just kept beating me. Then they dragged me to a corner with no CCTV and asked if I was going to file a complaint. I said yes, I didn’t do anything wrong and don’t deserve this. After that, they disappeared.”

He firmly denied any association with gangs or illegal activity, saying both he and his brother are legally employed construction workers in Thailand. “We were just sitting there, not causing any trouble. I want to take this all the way through legal channels. This shouldn’t happen to anyone,” he said.

Police at Samrong Nuea Station have acknowledged receipt of the complaint and confirmed an investigation is now underway. The names of the suspects, including the influencer, have not yet been officially disclosed.
