Yeah relying on "information" from Fox and direct white house sources is the US equivalent of a Russian relying on Kremlin propaganda and state tv. Not credible in the slightest.

Yeah, your sources are credible.

Lewie London is turning into a credible source for you folks.

What a joke.

Do your own research as the maga types love to say (but don't except to feed their conspiracy theories) and you will find there are much more objective sources of information.

They’re slashin’ Medicaid by nearly 900 billion quid, lads. That’s not a budget cut, that’s a Mexican Necktie

Quite an achievement. Even if you take that as US$, isn't that around 150% of current federal funding for Medicaid? 🤔

I'll admit Lewie might be one of the "colorful" personalities in pattaya.

I could go on but one of the greatest intellectuals around, Noam Chomsky,

Noam Chomsky is maybe one of the greatest intellectual CON ARTISTS ever. I'll give him that.

This is an excerpt:

Wow, the vile masters of mankind's motto: All for ourselves and nothing for other people.

Nothing. So you have nothing? Really? Absolutely nothing? You aren't typing on AN with a 1000$ Iphone / computer in your pocket? Most people have enough CRAP. Take a look at when people have garage sales. It's ridiculous how much crap people hoard throughout their lives, never using most of it.

This video maybe has some facts in there, but mixed with nonsensical exaggerations and doom and gloom, complete with the eerie music in the background.

You're writing Hyperbole. Have you watched the entire documentary? Or did you just Google around to find some people who are bashing Chomsky and then post this meme pic?

How is Chomsky a con artist? Who is he trying to con and for what?

Do you know what a Maxim is? If you did you would see the preceding phrase in a much different light.

For what I don't know.

I just gave you an example .... he's claiming the "masters of mankind" want "all for ourselves, and nothing for other people".

This is fear-mongering and a false caricature of the elites.

Many people in the US actually are self-made millionaires. And many people can earn good wages if they apply themselves.

The elites do keep the lion's share for themselves, true. It's been that way since the beginning of time. But it doesn't mean there's no hope to have a decent life for anyone else.

You've already lost credibility with me. You write fairly inteligently but not being able to answer why you call him a con artist just tells me you are making some kind of unfounded judgement against a very very famous and noted Professor from one of the most prestigious universities in the world. MIT

You've either not read what I've written or just don't understand it. You choose to focus in on this one "masters of mankind" term and then make a conclusion that he's fear mongering. All you've done is convince me you don't really comprehend the body of his work or many his very well established concepts and their relation to the latest trends in society (for instance the separation of the classes).

Sorry friend, do yourself a favor, study the work. Don't just focus on one meme you found to support what you would like to be true about Chomsky.

BTW, there is a big difference between a self made millionaire and the "elites' that Chomsky refers too. Elites are in the triple digit Millionaire and Billionaire class these days.

I'm a self made millionaire. That really isn't saying much these days. Self made millionaires are NOT the elites he is referring to. He's talking about REAL money 100's of Millions of dollars etc.

They have power to influence legislation, media, legal proceedings, hire expensive lawyers, buy political influence and on and one.

I, a self made millionaire cannot do these things. I don't have REAL money in today's terms.

My point is he said "all for ourselves, and nothing for other people".

Most people have a roof over their head, a car, a 72 inch screen, access to entertainment, ability to travel, etc...

So you don't see that he's exaggerating

Here he is again making nonsensical claims. Barbarism. That's a fancy word they teach you at MIT. Be afraid.

Chomsky warns 'con man' Trump will drag civilization down to the 'utter depths of barbarism'

I've only read two of Lewie's threads and loved both.  You can appreciate the style and humour without necessarily agreeing with the sentiments expressed.

Maybe they are deliberately trying to divide the country. Some people predict the US will break up into different countries.

Maybe intellectuals like Chomsky are being used for this agenda. Notice how the article below uses the phrase "forces in media". And maybe even Trump is being used for this agenda as he is dividing the country more than anyone.

https://edition.cnn.com/2023/07/04/politics/american-political-divisions-july-fourth

Why the US ‘does not get to assume that it lasts forever’

But he acknowledges there’s no assurance this patient nurturing of civic connection can overcome all the forces in politics, the media and communications technology blowing toward separation.

But don’t worry mate, your tips are tax free now. Assuming you’ve still got a job. Or a stomach. Or teeth.

The Bill, which was voted down doesn’t remove taxes on tips, overtime or social security.

It does increase the debt ceiling by $5Trillion.

It’s been voted down because the cuts to social programs don’t go far enough.

The tax cuts to the hyper wealthy must be paid for by the poor.

I don't know much about it ... so I have to look it up.

Is it possible our mate Lewie is misrepresenting this bill to suit his own bias and twisted agenda?

Here is what it says on the govt page:

https://www.whitehouse.gov/articles/2025/05/one-big-beautiful-bill-is-a-once-in-a-generation-chance/

1 - It's the largest tax cut ever

Americans earning between $30,000 and $80,000 will pay around 15% less in taxes

2 - It kicks illegal immigrants off taxpayer-funded Medicaid benefits. This bill eliminates waste, fraud, and abuse by ending benefits for at least 1.4 million illegal immigrants who are gaming the system.

3 - It prohibits Medicaid funding for gender transition procedures for minors.

3  good proposals.

Translated by the leftists into:

Trump hates the poor.  Loves the rich.

Illegal Aliens are not receiving due process.  U.S. citizens are being deported.

Trump is cutting all Medicaid.  Grandma will be pushed off a cliff in her wheelchair.  Trump is just homophobic

Fixed it for the leftists.

Why don't you do the research and let us know?

Dig up the facts because we only deal in facts on AN.

Or better yet ... why not take a few days off from Trump threads and go play some golf?

And both ended up in Thailand? What are the odds?

Maybe he can play golf with Trump.

He can come back and say Trump cheated him.
