One of Pattaya's biggest problems is the katoey population, which seems to be so violent and criminal. I doubt if the transgenders were so criminal and violent before they loaded themselves with hormones and chemicals.

Who swung first? They should have given the money back but hitting someone with a bottle is a major escalation. Fine her and jail him.

Facebook comments are brutal on this one.  Very similar stories have supposedly happened many times before.   Of course, gotta take it with a grain of salt since it's now political.   But this case doesn't seem to be political.  Fine, short prison, blacklist, name, shame, next!!!!  Would like to see million baht fines just to send a message.

An agreement was reportedly reached at 3,000 baht

That’s 500 baht per, which sounds cheap enough.  Disgusting.  These tourists are cheap and disgraceful.  Go home.

What do you suggest is not a cheap and disgusting recompense for such services?

Police were called to a violent altercation on Pattaya Beach in the early hours of the morning of 19 May, where a confrontation between a group of transgender individuals and a number of foreign tourists escalated into a physical fight.

The incident occurred at approximately 04:15  near a coconut tree-lined area of the beach. Officers from Pattaya City Police Station responded swiftly to the scene after receiving reports of a disturbance.

Upon arrival, police found two groups, five to six individuals on each side, in a heated argument, with visible signs of physical injuries including bruises and cuts. Despite their injuries, both parties continued to argue aggressively and showed no sign of de-escalation. Authorities intervened and escorted all involved to Pattaya City Police Station for questioning.

According to statements given by members of the transgender group, they had been standing by the beachfront coconut trees waiting to solicit clients when a group of intoxicated foreign tourists approached them to negotiate the price of sexual services. An agreement was reportedly reached at 3,000 baht, with a 1,000 baht deposit requested in advance.

However, the transgender individual who accepted the deposit became wary due to the tourists’ apparent level of intoxication and insisted that another companion accompany her as a safety measure. The tourists subsequently changed their minds, withdrew from the arrangement, and demanded a refund of the deposit.

An argument ensued, during which one of the transgender individuals attempted to intervene. At that point, the situation turned violent, with one of the tourists allegedly striking the individual with a bottle. This sparked a chaotic brawl, which was captured on video, showing both sides attacking and chasing each other.

Amid the commotion, a local motorcycle delivery rider aged 29, became involved. While waiting to pick up a customer nearby, he witnessed what appeared to be the assault of a woman by foreign tourists. He parked his motorbike and set his phone down before attempting to intervene. The tourists reportedly broke free, grabbed a piece of wood from the roadside and attacked the rider, damaging his motorbike and phone in the process.

Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage and have launched an investigation to establish the facts and ensure a fair and transparent legal process for all involved.

The Pattaya police confirmed that both groups were being questioned, and further legal action will depend on the outcome of ongoing inquiries. No names have been released by police at this stage, but the tourists are believed to be Israeli nationals.

Just how drunk (or dumb, or both) do you have to be to pay a deposit to a katoey, or Indeed anybody, for such "services"?

And then to expect to get the deposit back!

In Thailand!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Believed to be Israelis again. Considering a population of hardly 10mil. many seems to be over here working hard on their reputation.

Not the smarter bunch representing their country!

Pattaya - the hub of all katoey brawls - show performances nightly at beach road after midnight until the police arrives. Excellent news for the tourism promotion fellas in Bangkok who might be fast asleep (at that given time of the day when all this manure is happening). The internet is also read OUTside Thailand and could trigger certain misunderstandings among all those who do not know, how the game works here ........ just saying!
