It is easy, just get a tester kit for 100 baht. Takes about 15 seconds. If it is not correct tell your pool guy to make sure it is. Or change to a salt water system if you are worried about chlorine, they are a bit more expensive but much better. 1

JackGats Posted yesterday at 06:02 AM Posted yesterday at 06:02 AM I do shower, but increasingly in a perfunctary way, because in Thailand I see most other people round me not showering.
Popular Post hotsun Posted yesterday at 06:09 AM Popular Post Posted yesterday at 06:09 AM Went to a waterpark the other day. Whether i shower or not, the water is still filthy and the tubes substandard quality not built for full grown men so, my daughter had fun but i got water up my nose and have a sore throat now. Also hit my head against a supporting structure that was too low while the guy on duty in the spot whose job it was to warn me about it wasnt paying attention. 1 1 1

Popular Post jerrymahoney Posted 9 hours ago Popular Post Posted 9 hours ago My recent swimming pool issue was with a girth-challenged female who insisted on wearing street clothes in the moo ban swimming pool. And she was not going to change her routine because of what some farang said. And since this was early in the morning before any official staff arrived, nothing changed for about a month. Giving me extreme emotional distress. After finally getting to the right person-- things changed. She was obviously told: Proper swimwear (as is posted on the large sign in Thai) or else. 1 2

And Thais even would jump still in their street clothes. Enjoy👍 1 1
jaywalker2 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I shower for social reasons but I don't know how effective rinsing yourself poolside with cold water actually is,
jippytum Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Despite prominent notifces very few people using or condo pool shower before using the pool. I observe most Germans take a shower. The worst offenders are Russians who display zero poolside ediqate . 1

daveAustin Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago People not showering before getting into pools is the bane of the pool engineer/commercial pool owners. Selfish, lazy so 'n sos. They have no idea how much it taxes the filtration and then costs etc on chemicals, such that if they ever owned a pool and properly maintained it, they wouldn't think twice about pre-showering. Sweaty bodies, women with oodles of make-up and perfume, and idiots wearing street clothing can eventually overburden a normal system leading to bacteria build up and sick people. Rarely get into a pool here anymore (certainly not somewhere like Pattaya) unless can see it's a proper setup and it's not loaded with stinkies. 🙂 1
Stevemercer Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I'm from Australia and I've never heard of anyone showering before entering a private pool or the ocean. A public pool, maybe, given the number of people. Maybe it is a European thing? 1

Mandatory in Norway to take shower before entering a public pool yes. And when visiting friends who have pool, nobody would dare jumping in without taking a shower. Have serviced quite a few pools, and know how bad things can be if not up to date with service or people who take care with good routines and also good hygiene 1 1

jerrymahoney Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago At pools where people are lying in the sun and using tanning stuff and then getting in the pool, you can sometimes see a layer of tar/crud on the pool wall just above the water line.

alien365 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago If I was sweaty I would, but I don't sunbathe so I don't. I don't like getting burnt, so I'll put on my stinger suit before leaving the hotel room and then just jump in.
PAWNEESE Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Despite Thailand being a tropical climate .. poolside showers for much of the year are freaking freezing. If I am honest .. my pre swim shower is often so quick I hardly get wet. I am not the only one .... I have observed. It is the norm. But at least I had a quick rinse ... even if for show .. in case I am being watched. During the hot months it is ok. Showering by the pool is pleasant as the shower water not freezing. Many claim that they have just showered in their room.. amongst friends who are teasing each other about the lack of showering. Maybe 3 hours before or something is my guess. I once observed a guy who alternated betwen the sauna and jumping in the pool. He would be glistening and wet with sweat. Jump in ..and get out to do it all again. Yuk .. dirty bast###. What an uncouth moron. After his 5th time, I got annoyed and told him he should at least rinse off with a token quick shower .. AS THE POOLSIDE SIGNS command. He gave me an aggresive mouthful. And kept doing it. Hey Ho. 1

I could only see myself using the showers those few hours when staying around the pool these 10 days travelling around If it was not for the pleasant exercise swimming is, I wouldn't used the pool at all. 1 1
