Chatrium Riverside ... 60m², and I've stayed there and a very nice stay.

Centerpoint (link) ... 45m²

 

Saphan Taksin BTS is <1.5 kms away, actually walkable if not lazy, or too hot or raining out.

Bus, tuk tuk, meter taxis plow the road out front.  Have their own boat shuttle to the pier (Sapan Taksin) for river taxi or BTS.

 

Always the online taxis via apps.

This is corner one bedroom suite twin rooms 70m2. Which have nice balcony. We got upgraded from Grand deluxe river view which is 60m2 @KhunLA

 

Hotel have ok functional gym and large swimmingpool. Not so worried not being in the center of Silom.

I have spent time here since early 2000, and the more I stay, the more western food and western facilities I use.

 

Back in the "old" days, lived months in bamboo bungalows with electric 7-10, bucket showers and Thai food only.

 

Is this Thai enough for you? My (wife) back yard. 5 neighbours in 500m range. 

 

Your reply to my post is for 10 days only after returning from Europe. Somehow triggers some to give negative remarks and posts even I wrote 10 days, before returning to Isan on a local bus.

Stayed at Hilton, and absolutely the best location riverside when the hot season is killing it. Negative is the small pool and gym. Rooms great view and more silent than Chatrium Riverside. Anyway the noise stops at 11 most days

I've stayed in everything, from the Mandarin Oriental to Centrepoint Silom around there. I still choose Centrepoint Silom for my convenience. What makes it "absolutely the best", in your opinion?

You are comparing a One Bedroom apartment with the smallest room option at Centrepoint Silom? Why would you do that?

One Bedroom compared with One Bedroom. 60 sq.m vs 90 sq.m.

An eighteen minute walk is a lot when it's hot and humid outside. Two minutes is far more convenient. Similarly to Sathorn Pier(not Sapan Taksin as you named it. I'm beginning to wonder if you've ever actually been there). All right on the doorstep. No need for eighteen minute walks or getting stuck in traffic in taxis and Tuk-tuks.

If I wanted to faff around out there, then I would have considered the Chatrium. I didn't. I'm sure it's not bad. But I wasn't sold on it.

Hilton have the perfect location for a nice breeze when it is super hot. And nice shadow along the swimming pool. The rooms are decent, quiet, good bed, pillows and blanket. 
 

Chatrium have the second best breakfast, I think, and best breakfest I think is Queens Park Marriott Sukhumvit 22. 

 

Decent budget hotel around sukhhumvit  when I visit my embassy The bless hotel superior room but breakfest is awful.

 

I just want to be comfortable and have a good night sleep either visiting friends, stop over after traveling south,  relax to and from Europe before go home one way or the other.
