A violent confrontation between rival gangs erupted in the Nong Prue area of Bang Lamung district, Chonburi, leaving one man dead and two others injured. Armed with knives, guns and homemade explosives, the young assailants turned a planned meeting into a deadly street battle. The clash occurred just after midnight, on the morning of 23 May, on a Nong Prue Road, near a local butcher’s shop in Moo 3, where a silver Honda Giorno motorbike was also found crashed at the scene. Rescue personnel from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation and Nong Prue police responded promptly after receiving reports of multiple casualties. Among the injured was a 15-year-old male, referred to as “Tee”, who suffered a deep laceration to the ankle caused by shattered glass. Another victim, later identified as Mr Phim, was rushed to hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. An 18-year-old man named Mr Det was also wounded. Mr Phongsathorn, 19, a friend of the deceased, told investigators that the violence stemmed from a personal dispute over a woman. Despite an earlier attempt at reconciliation, tensions flared again when the opposing gang failed to appear for a planned peace talk. As Mr Phongsathorn’s group prepared to leave, they were ambushed by their rivals, who pursued them on motorbikes and attacked with an array of weapons. The situation turned fatal when Mr Phim, lost control of his motorbike during the pursuit and collided with a parked car. His bodywas flung beneath the vehicle. The opposing gang reportedly attempted to continue their attack but were interrupted by the victim’s older brother, who rammed his silver Honda Accord into the group to disperse them and rescue his sibling. According to the older brother, the attackers had threatened them at gunpoint, prompting him to act out of fear for their lives. An 18-year-old female witness, Ms Tai, revealed she had narrowly escaped a similar attack involving a thrown explosive days earlier. She claimed she was deceived into believing this latest meeting was to offer an apology. However, the rival gang lay in wait and launched their ambush instead. CCTV footage from the area captured parts of the incident, including the motorbike chase and the ensuing brawl before the car sped back into the fray, scattering the gangs. Pol. Lt. Col. Chai Sreedamanee, the investigating officer from Nong Prue Police Station, has launched a full inquiry and reported to his superior, Pol. Col. Nattaphon Phongsuksakul. Investigators have already identified the attackers and are actively pursuing them for prosecution. Adapted by Asean Now from Kaoded 2025-05-23. 9 3

save the frogs Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago fighting over a woman. what a joke with all the loose women running around. they're fighting because they come from broken homes and they are psychologically wounded from years of neglect from an absent father. 1 2 1

Except every day. 1 3
ChrisKC Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago To be fair, as it relates to a nice family resort, most incidents of a nefarious and violent nature occur when most decent people are in bed. 1

True, the difference being in western countries, they are punished more severely, at younger ages, whereas here when young they are released back to parent (s), or grandma, who isn't around enough to properly discipline them, and this will continue until the criminal activity rivals the US per capita. 1 1 1

Popular Post Kerryd Posted 3 hours ago Popular Post Posted 3 hours ago Maybe she's a really good "earner" and they were not competing for her affections - but her "salary". And yes, I've seen nasty confrontations between Thai boys (young adults) and girls (also young adults) in Pattaya literally about that very thing. New girl arrives in Pattaya from "the farm". Meets "hansum karaoke boy" or "moto-taxi" guy and shacks up with him. And then he starts expecting her to sell her @ss in a bar - and give him the money. When I used to live in South Pattaya, there were a number of such incidents just on the block I lived on. One guy tried to rough up his girlfriend because he didn't think she was giving him enough of her earnings. She laid open his upper arm with a butcher knife. Another girl showed up at the laundry with bruises on her arms. Her "karaoke boy" room-mate was angry because she wasn't "selling it" and he wanted money for whiskey and to play "snook". (Apparently he only shacked up with her because he thought she'd make a lot of money working in the go-go bars.) The "elder sister" of the 3 that owned that particular section of the shophouse/apartment block tromped up the stairs and karaoke boy was out on his butt in a hurry, never to return. Another girl supposedly got the same treatment - from her female "cousin" who'd convinved her to come to Pattaya to work. When she arrived she stayed in the same room as the cousin and 4 other girls (they had a single queen sized bed in the apartment but it seems 2-3 of them often "didn't come home at night"). But the "cousin" started demanding the new girl go work in a go-go bar and sell her (meow meow) for money and slapped her around a bit. So she ended up quitting and going back to her village instead. There is a lot of stuff going on in the city that never even makes the local news, let alone appear in the "foreign" media. So it's possible this confrontation wasn't about love but about a loss of potential income. 1 1 2

And may well include non Germans. If you take the time to read the OP, you can see it was lifted from another publication...... Plenty of Thai tourists come here!
connda Posted 26 minutes ago Posted 26 minutes ago Tomorrow we'll have an Op-Ed whinging about the loss of tourism in Pattaya followed by new articles about "Pattaya - The Safest City In The World." Within the next month they'll be a news articles about some farang being macheted on the Beach Road by "angry ladyboys" and a farang beat by 10 Thais for "not paying his bill" followed by a score on AN regulars OP'ing about how all bad farangs no doubt deserved it. Wash, rinse, repeat.
