kiwi147 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago On May 16, 2025, I arrived in Thailand from Barcelona, but immigration officers denied me entry, and I had to return to Barcelona. Last year, I was in Thailand on a student visa, but before it expired, I had to return to Spain due to a family emergency. I notified the school, but I knew I wouldn't be returning soon, so I assumed my visa would expire and I would lose it. I left Thailand in December 2024, and five months later, immigration officers asked me about my visa from last year. When the immigration officer questioned me, they asked me to name the Thai alphabet, and I could only name a few letters. I guess they thought I didn't study or that I was working in Thailand. They didn't put a stamp in my passport or clearly explain the reason they wouldn't let me in. I tried to enter with a "visa on arrival." I had an exit ticket and enough cash. Now I don't know what my situation is. Could it be that I'm banned from entering the country for a certain period of time? The agents I've contacted recommend that I do a "fast track" procedure, but I don't like that option. I want to do things right without shortcuts or bribes. Could anyone who has been through a similar situation give me some guidance on how I should proceed? Thank you. I already contacted the Thai embassy in Spain, and they told me I had to contact Thai immigration. I've contacted them and am awaiting a response. 1

Or did you contact Immigration at that particular Bangkok airport? (If so, please share the response, as, I'm sure, many AN members would be very curious to hear about it... You're not banned, but if I were you, I would either go with 'fast track', or, at least, get a visa from a Thai embassy/consulate. (Alternatively, stay another 6 months, or so out of Thailand.)

How long have you been in Thailand in the last five years ? These days you either need a visa and pay guaranteed entry to get into Thailand
kiwi147 Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago I've contacted the central immigration office in Bangkok. That's the contact the embassy referred to me. I don't have many expectations for a response. Just like the immigration officer who denied my entry, when I asked if he could tell me the reason for the denial, he only replied, "You won't be entering the country today. I have friends who told me to use "fast track" and come now, and other friends tell me I should first find out if I have a ban. The agents I've contacted don't give any importance to whether I have a ban or not. I prefer the second option: first find out if I've been banned and then apply for a visa to gain access.
kiwi147 Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago I just recieved a response from thailand lawyer than they can provide a full immigration and blacklist check for 6500 bath.

Crossy Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Did you get any form of "denied entry" stamp in your passport? Or for that matter, any paperwork whatever to sign? Please post an image of same. "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Sorry, I'm just guessing. I have no idea how it works. But if you had left and forgot to inform immigration, you would have proof on your passport of an entry stamp to Spain at that time? And I would try sending a copy of that to Thai Immigration to explain what happened and ask for some sort of "pardon" so they don't blacklist you.

Cameroni Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Your only option is to use a safe entry agent. You'll get a visa waiver stamp. Then you need to sort out a proper visa.

My old passport was expiring in February of the following year and I decided to renew it now that I was in Spain. I have visited Thailand about 20 times in the last 15 years and have never had any problems with immigration so I don't think my name are confused with someone else but who knows ,,,, 1

Its all done digitally now , don't even get a stamp in your PP when departing

Quentin Zen Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago This student visa was an Educational visa, and you did study Thai for a period of time? Maybe they will quiz you again. I was on an Ed visa and could now probably write and name about 25 to 30 Thai letters and almost all the vowels. There are probably 10 more that are used very rarely. I think there are 44 total. Anyhow, maybe try to remember 10 for next time. It's all about how important this is to you. If super important, get an agent, do the safe entry thing...and during that you will find out if blacklisted. I wouldn't take it too personally, since I've had immigration agents who weren't super nice to me. Most are, some are rather cold. Of course, I wasn't there. Seems pretty serious, so take it seriously.

(From experience I know that there must be some remark they add to your 'profile' once they want to refuse you, cause shortly after I (almost) got refused at one Bangkok airport, I experienced the same at the other, and even a third entry point.)

nightfox Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Waste of time contacting immigration as your best bet is to get in touch with an immigration lawyer in Thailand if you want answers as many of them have contacts in immigration. Just don't be a fool thinking you can enter with a new passport as all your history is in the computer.
Nick Carter icp Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago 2 minutes ago, StayinThailand2much said: You mean a 'Refused...' stamp, no doubt, not an exit stamp. No, when leaving Swampy you don't get a stamp in your PP with a leaving date on it . You just scan your PP and the gate opens and off you go , no stamp in PP

Si busca respuestas, lo mejor es contactar con un abogado de inmigración en Tailandia, ya que muchos tienen contactos en inmigración. No sea ingenuo pensando que puede entrar con un pasaporte nuevo, ya que todo su historial está en la computadora. That's what I want, if anyone has been in a similar situation I would appreciate it if you could give me the contact information of the lawyer who helped you.
