In a shocking case that has sparked widespread outrage, police in South Thailand have identified a gang responsible for forcibly making a 29-year-old man swallow a bullet as part of a brutal tactic to collect a gambling debt. This incident, which took place in Hat Yai, Songkhla province, surfaced following a disturbing video that circulated on social media.

The victim, Natthawut, had fallen deep into debt due to online football gambling, accumulating an obligation of 50,000 baht owed to a man identified as Suebsatthar, also known as "Not." On December 11, 2024, Suebsatthar and a group of approximately 20 associates confronted Natthawut demanding repayment.

Unable to settle his debt, Natthawut was coerced by one of Suebsatthar’s associates, Rapeepong, to swallow a bullet—an act captured in the viral video. The bullet was provided by Chakrapong, another member of the gang. The terrifying act was offered as a condition for reducing Natthawut’s debt to 30,000 baht. Fearing further violent repercussions, Natthawut complied with the harrowing demand.

Even after this, the ordeal did not end. Natthawut was then subjected to a brutal physical assault by the gang, who used a baseball bat and metal rods, leaving him seriously injured. Adding to his distress, the gang seized two motorbikes belonging to Natthawut and his father, along with 10,000 baht in cash as collateral.

Authorities, involved in a joint investigation led by senior officers from Region 9 police in Songkhla, have condemned the gang’s actions as audacious and beyond lawful bounds. The police described the gang’s conduct as utterly disregardless of law and order.

Following these events, Natthawut bravely approached the police, providing his statement and filing a formal complaint at the Hat Yai Police Station. As he recuperates, legal actions and a thorough investigation are underway to bring the perpetrators to justice, sending a strong signal against such organised criminal activities in the region.

Eating a bullet  depending at its size is not really bad  if they are from a normal handgun like a 357/ .38. / 9mm   it'll pass trough the body no problem.

Was thinking the same and wondering why the bullet has been so sensationalized.  I'd ingest a handfull of bullets vs being beaten with baseball bats and metal rods.

A 9mm would likely be FMJ or fully jacketed in brass.  There wouldn't even be a risk of lead ingestion.

A couple of times, I had to swallow pills almost as big as a 9mm.   It wasn't too difficult to do.   I could feel the things going all the way down to my stomach.   Some kind of medicine we had to take in Vietnam.

I wish I could remember why I had to take the things.
