A landowner in Ban Bueng District is preparing to lodge a formal complaint for trespassing after an unidentified party dumped a vast quantity of children’s toys on private land behind Wat Mao Suka (Mongkonsawat) in Moo 4, Nong Sam Saak Subdistrict. The toys, mostly new and still in their packaging, quickly attracted throngs of local residents who flocked to the site with sacks to collect the items for their children or to donate to others.

The location in question is a privately owned waste disposal area, which has a clearly posted sign stating that only construction debris is accepted, explicitly prohibiting the dumping of rubbish, foam and all types of chemical waste. A contact number for coordination is also displayed, though no one contacted the owner before dumping the toys.

At the site, locals had already taken many of the toys. The remainder, according to the landowner, had since been buried with a tractor. The landowner, who insists they were unaware of who deposited the toys and received no prior communication, stated that they would be filing a police report at Ban Bueng Police Station and submitting evidence to support a legal case for trespassing. Further details were withheld pending police investigation.

The unexpected discovery sparked much speculation among local residents. Many questioned why the toys, almost all in excellent condition and clearly never used, had not been donated or sold. Some suggested they may have come from a warehouse whose lease had expired, leading the owner to dispose of the stock hastily.

The incident gained wider attention after a local Facebook page, Chonburi News Executioner, posted images and a message alerting the public: “Someone dumped brand-new toys here. Plenty to go around if you have children.” The post went viral, prompting dozens of people to descend on the site in hopes of collecting toys.

Mr. Bandit, a motorcycle taxi driver who arrived at the scene, said he saw the news online and came to pick up toys to donate to underprivileged children. “It’s such a waste to see perfectly good toys thrown away,” he said.

A tractor operator on the site, responsible for land levelling, said he had no idea who dumped the toys but allowed locals to collect them first after seeing the growing crowd.

One resident, Mr. Prakit Sae Tae, came with his child and left with two sacks full of toys. “Some will be for my son, and I’ll give the rest to other kids in my village,” he said. “I even gave the tractor driver 100 baht for fuel, it’s more than worth it for what we got.”

Despite the goodwill and cheer among those who benefitted from the find, the landowner has made it clear that the dumping constitutes illegal trespass and has vowed to pursue the matter through legal channels.

The local police investigation is expected to focus on identifying who was responsible for the illegal disposal.

And all that plastic will not decompose, should have just left the locals to pick it clean, i doubt it would have taken long!

What if the toys were contaminated or defective? Toys are regularly recalled because of poor construction that can result in a child being injured. Other tomes the material if contaminated or toxic.
