Harris Fan, you single?

Haven't lived there, but I'm guessing it might be one of the better places in Thailand to meet women.

Small cities are easier to meet women.

The image of Bangkok as an inferred hub of intellectuals was enough to have me choking on my coffee.

Intellectual is a strong word ... but well-educated people for sure

A lot of multinationals, NGOs based out of BKK.

Not the same expat demographic as the retirees in tourist hubs.

I hate it.  Nasty little Taxi drivers that have no map, no gps and no clue where to go.

That is a good point, I could do with an A-Z street map if they still exist. These Google maps and the like don't give any context for the larger surrounding area.

You can zoom in & out 😎

Gmap is amazing, and streetview, what else does one need ?

Why do you love it? Or why do you hate it? Or maybe neutral on it. Couple of days then done.

Damn dude look at all your thumbs down over a post about Bangkok. You clearly are winning LOL.

I like Bangkok because one night makes me humble

The thumbs down are for you starting another of your silly, pointless threads.

maybe he has a bad reputation for starting silly threads in the past, but this thread topic is ok.

Bkk is fantastic if you're happy spending money. Imagine if everything in bkk was 90% cheaper, I suspect all those claiming to hate the place would be saying how much they loved it.

Why would that be?  Isn't it the other way round?

People are more friendly, less in a hurry. Thats what I found. I met my partners in small cities.

Hating a name on a forum. How deranged.

Or is it the person behind the name which is attracting all the hate?.....

If all of that is too much, then two big airports with great connections to the world and low cost local carriers

First up agree with your summary of Bangkok.

The airports and easy access a big bonus for frequent travellers

I have certainly loved it more. not a fan of history being replaced by malls

Pratunam was better in the past. I used to walk from Pratunam to MBK. Street food the whole way.
