Just wondered if anyone has managed to arrange a 10 year retirement Visa through an agent? If so, what sort of cost was involved?

Are you asking about Non O-X

Or LTR

Also what do you mean via an agent.

You need to meet the financial requirements

If it's LTR then easy research available.

Try Google "Agent for LTR Thailand"

You will see many companies.

Here is just one by way of example.

Thanks for the reply. I just noticed this option when I was looking at LTR Visa’s as suggested from a previous thread. It doesn’t appear to be a Non O-X as that’s listed elsewhere.

We can meet the financial criteria, but the heath insurance would be quite crippling. We intend to get health insurance to cover any of the real financial disasters. I was wondering if an agent like One Stop or Tik Tok could help there. However reading the criteria more closely, it appears we would need to apply outside of Thailand, so doubt anyone has successfully used a Thai agent/fixer.

Thanks for the link too, looks very informative, I will read through the information more thoroughly.

As the 10-year LTR costs B 50,000, the lawyer's fee seems unreasonable.

The guy in this attached thread was very happy with his agent.

BTW was 50k + 50k

50 agent + 50 application.

The pensioner LTR is 50,000 baht. If your passive income is a simple pension then it is easy to apply yourself online. If your income is more complicated than an agent might be useful.

You can apply for the LTR either inside Thailand or outside Thailand.

The LTR visa is done online from one's computer without having to go anywhere for help other than the BOI.  Unless one has some complicated income, everything else is pretty straight forward.  The BOI on health issue is 50K USD for hospitalization or one can self insure and BOI spells that out too.  Most foreign insurers will gladly provide a letter of coverage for the BOI folks.  I am talking about the LTR-wealthy pensioner as there are 3 other categories that one might fit into.  I myself fail to understand why one would need an agent to facilitate getting this visa.  I have read the one successful agent cost 50K baht plus the 50K baht of the visa but if one wants to spend money for an agent, as this customer said it was worth it to him.  I had a couple of issues with the BOI but easily took care of those by working with the BOI folks who speak excellent English and seem to be very helpful.  They know what the officials making the final decision need so they can advise anyone wanting one of the 4 categories of this visa.  The benefits are well worth the cost of the visa in my opinion and it is perfect for me.  Best of luck for all.  To understand the benefits, just google the BOI LTR and then choose which if any is right for you.

I'm sure this guy was talking about using an agent to get around the requirements, like everyone well knows you can do with the annual visas.

I paid someone 25K a year for a couple years until I figured out that I didn't need them. Now I just leave 800K in a bank account.

Problem is when you die it’s a nightmare to get out your family have to get a lawyer snd then apply to the courts for the money to be released even if your married to a Thai it’s difficult for her/him to get the money  I’m talking from experience it was suggested to me to use the deceased atm card and withdraw it that way to save all the hassle but we know that’s illegal
