I will be arriving in Bangkok in july ,I have outward ticket to Vietnam 58 days after arriving in Bangkok .

I hope to do Retirement visa as soon as possible (Phetchabun immigration).

Last time i was in Thailand was 2 years ago (birth of second child).

I have been unable to get insurance as i have no flight back to the UK.

Now looking to get to insurance with Pacific cross.

Regarding Retirement visa i plan to put 65k Baht from my Wise account monthly.

                                                        Thanks

What does insurance have to do with things.

You cannot use 65k monthly transfers for first extension.

How are you entering Thailand.

Visa exempt?

The visa you could obtain from Thai immigration is a Non O retirement.

That requires 800k in Thai bank account on day of application.

That gives you a 90 day stamp.

In the last 30 with the 800k having been in bank for 2 months you can apply for 12 month extension.

You cannot use 65k transfers for first extension as you cannot show 12 months of transfers.

What's with the trip to Vietnam.

You mention birth of second child?

Thai children? Are you married to Thai national?

I will be entering on 60 day tourist visa.

I have 800k baht in my kasikorn  bank account, since december 2023.

The non o retirement visa, i do this in Phetchabun immigration ?.

Not married

                            Thankyou

You can obtain a Non O at your local immigration office from a tourist visa entry or visa exempt entry.

My guess is that you entered visa exempt.

The Non O requires 800k in Thai bank on day of application.

Needs to be shown coming from abroad.

That application also requires a TM87.

You then apply for 12 month extension with up to 30 days remaining on the 90 day stamp the Non O provides.

As mentioned you cannot use income method for first extension.

The money in bank method has financial requirements.

Edit: just noticed your funds in bank since 2023??

Immigration should not require proof funds from abroad

The following link sets out how you go about obtaining a 90-day non-O visa conversion for retirement. As far as I'm aware, Phetchabun adhere to these requirements slavishly (in stark contrast to Jomtien and Chiang Mai who have made up their own rules!).

Later, you mentioned you have the money in the bank, so could also apply for a Non-O 90-day visa through the e-Visa system before coming to Thailand, which would cut down on the hassles with immigration (for the same thing) AND relieve you of needing a "ticket out" within 60-days.

Either way, after you get your first 1-year extension using "money in the bank," if you send the 65K Baht every month during the first year, you can use transfers for subsequent annual extensions.

not always easy to obtain a 'retirement' non imm 'O' e-visa. but worth doing if showing on e-visa site

Easy in the UK last year, took 4 days and saves a trip to immigration.  Well worth trying.

Agree with previous posts that obtaining the Non O e-Visa in UK is best option.

Note also for others .. If obtaining the Non O in Thailand you need show funds transfered from abroad.

This is not required if obtaining the Non O outside of Thailand.

Doesn't apply to OP as he has had money in Thai bank for 2 years (strange)

Sorry for the off-topic question and not meant to detract from the original poster. But I see it written further up in the thread that when using the 800k method, the applicant must prove that the 800k comes from abroad. What I do now a year in advance before next year's application is to transfer from abroad a little more each month and I should then have plus 800k in the bank two months before the next retirement renewal. Is that accepted and then in addition show a year's bank statement or does Immigration require to see a "lumpsum" of 800k transferred from abroad? Btw, this is not my first retirement extension.

Thanks

The 'abroad' requirement is only for the initial non O visa. It is not required for subsequent extensions, as in your case.

That is only for application for the Non O retirement in Thailand.

Annual 12 month extensions do not have that requirement nor does  a Non O retirement obtained outside of Thailand

Foreign sourced funds are required in two cases:

1/ Initial Non Immigrant O Visa application inside Thailand (e.g. having entered visa exempt).

2/ Extensions of Stay (EOS) using the income method (the 40k/65k monthly bank deposits).

The case you are describing is Extension of Stay (EOS) using the money in the bank method, for which the funds must be seasoned but do not have to be foreign sourced.

Note that @DrJack54's comment referring to foreign source funds is in reference to the initial Non O visa rather than Extension of Stay:

The Vietnam flight is for the (TDAC).

The TM 87 I take to Immigration at Phetchbun  ?

                                      Thanks

You didn't need Vietnam flight for TDAC.

So you don't actually have a ticket to Vietnam?

The TM87 is a form to obtain a Non O from visa, exempt entry.

The TM86 form is used if you entered via Tourist visa.

Please don't tell me you entered with a tourist visa.

Are you reading any of the advice posted in the thread?

Sorry but the 15 times I have to Thailand always as tourist.

The TM 87 do I  hand in when  doing TDAC  ? .

Will i need my bankbook , currently in Thailand.

Will i need letter from girlfriend as i will be living at her house.

I fly to Bangkok in just over 4 weeks to keep it less than 180  days

                             Thankyou

A visa exempt entry is tourist status..

A SETV is a visa. However still tourist status..

You clearly not reading the advice

The TM87 is for application for Non O at local immigration office.

Zero to do with TDAC.

Where to start...

Bankbook for what? To apply for Non O then yes of course.

Letter from gf. No you need a TM30.

"Less than 180 days" .,

Sounds like some nonsense regarding tax .

Please post coherent questions for advice.

Actually, it saves 2 trips to immigration.  The first one to apply, and the 2nd to go back after the "under consideration" period to get the visa.
