Very true, that last sentence. Voting for or supporting Trump is voting to cut your own throat, if you're an expatriate. I know you and others warned for years that Trump would devalue and undermine t

The last 2 years I did not get the  the form. I have no idea why not.  I made copies of the last time I got the form, about 3 years ago and used one of those copies to send in and attached a short note explaining  that I had not received the 7162.. Two weeks later I sent  a copy again just to make sure. Last year I sent an email to the the embassy in the Philippines asking why my form7162 did not arrive at my address in Thailand like it always used to. They just sent an email  with a form7162 as an attachment with no explanation.

A few years back never got the first or second later and when it did finally arrive it was months late. In 2025 I don,t think I got anything but mailed the form anyway in July. Often later and sometimes never typical chaos.

BINGO!!!!  Received my 7162 today/5 Aug 2025 here in Bangkok.

Date in upper right hand corner of the 7162 was 31 Jul 2025 (see image below).   No postage marking on envelope to indicate when it was really mailed.   Instructions to return as previous years...saying return within 60 days.

Awesome....and much as I expected.

Let's now see how quickly it gets received throughout other parts of Thailand.

Due to flooding I won't be at my Nan residence for a few more days. Hopefully if it arrives before I do it doesn't get 'smudged'.

Is the return address, PO Box in Wilkes-Barre, the same as in previous years?

And while doing my morning dog walk past the house of some fellow SSA pensioners ( a husband and wife team) who are out of town for a few weeks and who asked me to check their mailbox for their expected 7162s one of them had received the 7162 but not the other.

Friend in Sanpatong got his this morning. I'm 1 km away, not here yet.

When I went to my local Bangkok post office today to return mail by bar-coded 7162 there were two other folks there doing the same thing.  So, I must assume 7162s are now arriving (just arrived) for many.

Just curious did you send it ordinary or EMS/tracking?

ordinary airmail like always.

Wife and I received ours Monday, August 4 and they're also dated July 31.  Hers either came early or on an earlier day and we didn't see it.  Mine appeared in the PM.

The bar code on the back of the form appears identical on both forms but the QR code by the address is different between the two.

The first couple of years I used EMS but then just decided regular mail should make it within the allotted 60 days so I went the cheaper route.  Both the wife and I have had no problems but a close friend also used regular mail last year and his benefits were suspended in Feb.  I think he missed 4 months benefits before restoration and recompense.

The barcode contains the SSAN and some seemingly random other characters. Use an android scanner.

Be sure to specify "airmail"....stress airmail otherwise it might be sent "surface" mail  (i.e., slow boat, ground, etc).  Stress AIRmail.

When going airmail ThaiPostal puts an airmail label on the envelope in addition to the metered stamp.

And of course there is always the possibility that although the mail arrives Wilkes Barre within a few weeks the Wilkes Barre SSA Ops Center is tardy in processing your 7162 or rejects it for some reason which can result in getting a 2nd notice, suspension, etc.  Stuff happens.

And remember this year a lot of govt employees who have taken buyouts/early retirement offers or received reduction in force notices their last work day will 30 Sep (if not already gone) as that's the end of the US govt fiscal year...and no doubt some of these employees will be taking terminal leave before 30 Sep while still being able to draw full pay thru 30 Sep.  This creates manpower shortfalls.  This year is just messed-up due to the new regime.

Yeah, I always forget, but when I say tumadah, they know me and stick on airmail. By the way, do they require you to show an ID or passport? I'm not sure why they started doing that here a couple of years ago, they don't do it at Hang Dong.

I can't say as I automaticaally  show my Thai Pink ID card when mailing something.  I expect any ID requirement varies from post office to office as This Is Thailand.

received the SSA-7162 letter in the mail this afternoon…residing in Udon Thani…

And once again never received my form in June this year. My Thai address is in Petchabun province but currently in Prachuap. Is there any issues mailing with a different postal stamp in a different province? Can Thai Fast Mail be used to mail to Social Security in the states? Can they be mailed to the office in Manila Philippines ?

Was told yesterday after staying at likely dozens of hotels over the years that my card was only good in Petchabun province. Won,t be returning to that dodgy hotel ever again.

Are you even reading the posts in this thread?

It appears nobody received them in June this year....or July!
