"Healthcare" in the US was always nothing more than quick financial ruin and death. Democrats weren't getting it done, but the MAGA agenda will make it far worse. Insurance is paid for by the worker so you can't up front argue against delay tactics, willful misdiagnosis, hidden diagnostics, felony breach of privacy and exorbitant overcharges There's little of chance of finding a competent doctor which there isn't much except for routine broken bones or such. There are laws on the books to protect victims but they are trampled underfoot. Here the system is non profit so it isn't much of a concern. Millions in the US have lost health insurance and Medicare and will lose everything in social security if this nonsense continues. 

It's worth adding that illegal immigrants PAY into SS payroll taxes, but they do NOT qualify for SS payments, so we've been riding heavily on their backs in that and other ways for many decades. Of course Mr. Trump's rabid racism is killing off that contribution as quickly as possible. SS is paid for directly from payroll tax deductions, NOT income or sales tax dollars.   In 2023, immigrants contributed an estimated $26.2 billion to the Social Security Trust Fund, even though most will never receive benefits.

I did the phone call option on Sept 2nd. I never got the form and if they sent a second one I didn't get that either or... hopefully... the phone call verified that I'm alive and therefore didn't need the second form mails.  I 'trust' that all is good. 🤞🤞🤞

I have a question, probably been answered  so Mea Culpa.   I receive both VA and SSA payments, they are sent to my Stateside Bank and have been for years.  If I decide to move permanently to Thailand, do I have to send in this form??  I intend to keep my bank account open, they actually specialize in folks that live overseas.  I do not intend to report that I live overseas, unless it is absolutely necessary.    Any idea’s??     peace

I believe there's a requirement to advise the SSA if you move permanently overseas. You'd then receive the 7162 form at the overseas address you give to SSA.

I can tell you for a fact the ONLY illegals paying into SS are those using stolen SS#'s or those that have fake documents, ya know, birth certs and all the rest.

I'm the same. They never asked if I was living over seas or not. I'm a firm believer in "Don't ask/Don't tell"

More than one thing can be true at a time: "illegals" do contribute roughly $26 billion to the SSA per year and many of them do indeed use fake documents or "borrowed" SSNs. But they cannot claim benefits.

 

Some "illegals' actually have valid ITINs, so it isn't true that all of them use fake documents or stolen SSNs. The IRS issues ITINs regardless of immigration status.
