I need medical certificate  for retirement visa, going to try  to book appointment at my doctors tomorrow.

Anybody done this recently. How long did   it take  ?   ,   is it worth going private.                                                          Thanks

A clinic will issue for 200-400 and a hospital for about 500-1500 depending.

You don't need a med cert for a retirement visa unless it's OA as DrJack had stated.

You might want to stop drinking before you go for any certificate. Just a thought.

Enjoy your evening

Not sure about your post...

From the link I provided to OP in  previous thread he posted this.....

"I will be arriving in Bangkok in july "

Seems not in Thailand and posting very confusing questions.

I'm guessing you're from the UK ?

I'm also guessing you're applying for a visa to enter Thailand from a Thai Embassy ?

Which type of visa are you applying for ?

Nonsense is apt word.

It appears he intends to apply for a 1 year extension of stay based on retirement, but will off course require a Non Immigrant type visa first.

It also appears his intention is to enter Visa exempt, apply for the Non Imm O at Phetchabun Immigration, then the 1 year extension.

The advice though was to obtain the Non Imm O prior to entry ............ but none of the above has any compulsory Health Insurance requirement.

Probably a red herring and just looking for some voluntary Health Insurance policy.

He may well be aware of his intentions, but doesn't explain it very well.

Yes, it's the Non Imm O visa that you should apply for.

No requirement for Health Insurance or criminal record check.

Takes 4-7 days from reports provided all the supplied documents are in order.

Valid for 90 days to enter Thailand.
On entry, you'll receive permission of stay for 90 days.

After 60 days, you can apply for the 1 year extension based on retirement.

Important Notes on Getting a Medical Certificate for Thai Visa Application (from the Netherlands)

Use the blank Thai-English version of the medical certificate form—this is the most straightforward option. In the Netherlands, your own GP is not allowed to fill in the form. Instead, you'll be referred to another GP in the area. Making an appointment may take time, and initial costs are around €50.

After obtaining the certificate, the doctor’s signature must be legalized in the following order:

  1. Ministry of Health

  2. Ministry of Foreign Affairs

  3. Thai Embassy in The Hague

Only then will it be accepted for your visa application.

Be aware: getting an appointment at the Thai embassy can be difficult, so start early. Alternatively, consider using an agent located near the ministries—they can often handle the process much faster.

⚠️ If you use a non-Thai version of the certificate, you may need to hire a certified translator, whose signature must then be verified by a court, adding even more steps.

Although the medical certificate looks simple, it must go through multiple official channels before it's accepted.

Always check the latest rules with your local Thai embassy.

Good luck!

This was all explained in detail in your previous thread.

You either

1. Apply for Non O-A in UK or

2. Apply for Non O in UK or

3. Enter Thailand visa exempt and apply for Non O at local immigration office in Thailand.

Only # 1 requires health insurance.

Only # 1 requires medical certificate.

Plenty of links and advice provided. None of which seems to register..

Thanks Liquorice,  Only problem now I  sold my property last  December.

I stay at my sister and brother in laws house, so no utility bills.

You should have SOMETHING that shows you with an address in UK.  A bank statement, your drivers license? Any utility bill, whether it's where you are staying at now, such as your cell phone bill. Credit card statement, etc.

That was your first mistake.

Good luck.

Any organised person would have changed his address with his UK bank (online) and driving licence, which it's an offence not to do so.

Both are proof of your UK address.

Earlier the OP stated...,

" I take that is wrong and  I should be doing non imm O.

The Non imm O    how long does it take to do, I have flight booked July 9th."

The OP is applying for a Non O.

No insurance required hence no medical needed.

The post containing information about the Netherlands is redundant to the OP is more what I was angling towards.

So what's this thread about?

If you're obtaining a Non O retirement in UK or in Thailand from visa, exempt entry then why ask a Medical when it's not required.
