Trump's crackdown on LA protests is pure hypocrisy

Dems were kicked out at last years elections and as usual are looking/doing what they can to cause as much friction as possible, here we see just how low they will go, as with the blm riots they are pushing this violence as much as possible while saying it is peaceful protesting. This is what happens when the left think they can do as they please, illegal immigrants burning and causing as much violence as possible for their dem supporters, the only pity is that lethal action isnt allowed for the police etc to stop these terrorists , maybe if there was a real responce to what they are doing they would realize that being in the US isnt their right, the dems are totally to blame here for allowing all these illegals to swarm the US and then pay them to stay while taking it away from real US citizens

This risks a full-scale collapse of the USA’s already crumbling political norms. Trump has pardoned his own supporters for violent insurrection

I didn't see J6 protestors throw Molatov cocktails at police, firing fireworks and explosives at the cops, or hurling bricks and rocks at Capitol police.  They didn't block the freeways, they did burn vehicles, they did resort to arson and burn down the Capitol building and offices, and they didn't go an a rampage through DC burning, looting, and committing acts of assault. But that is happening in LA.

J6 violent?  Yeah, the vast majority getting thrown into prison for year for "Parading" and trespass for walking in single line though the Capitol building and staying within the roped areas and taking pictures after the Capital police opened the freaking doors and invited them in.

Nice try OP.  Utter 🐂💩 but nice try.  What do you pro-Antifa guys on the Left love to say, Oh yeah - "False Equivalent."

  Hey, why stop there?

Let's break out the truncheons, maces, and flails and go full medieval.

Water canons are hardly medieval. They certainly work in europe and no body dies.

Calling someone a 'Liar' is not nice. It's not polite, and certainly not needed in a debate.

Calling a liar a liar is the truth. The truth hurts if you cant handle it.

One died the next day as a result of what happened on the 6th, and four more killed themselves because of it.

Thats a lie again. Ergo you have doubled down on beoing a liar.

Senator Ted Cruz posted a dramatic video of LAPD cars on fire with the caption “this… is… not… peaceful.” What he didn’t mention? The footage was from 2020, not 2025. His post on X falsely implied it was current, part of a broader effort to spread lies and manufacture a crisis.

who cares, LA is on fire, take your blinders off.

I saw the same... on January 6th. Only then police were killed by the mob seeking to take over the United States.

Live ammo time? So you are suggesting that Americans shoot other Americans?

Hey, that's not the America I grew up in.

That's North Korea. That's Russia. That's any dictatorship. That's NOT America... at least, it wasn't America.

It's his (wet) dream of America!

"Armed citizens", live ammunition and dead (brown) bodies.

Well this will p*** off the OP and his pro-illegal immigration/anti-Trump AN friends.

'MARINES PREPARED TO DEPLOY' on LA rioters — US Northern Command
But - this gives me pause!  I'm not a fan of having US military troops deployed on US soil.  Based on the information below, if they are deployed, then Trump has labelled this an "Insurrection" and has now invoked The Insurrection Act. I guess we'll see over the next day or so.  I hope not.

Personally I find this concerning.  The US has made it through multiple protests and riots over the years - look at the various flavors of riots in LA alone.  Watts Riots (1965), Rodney King Riots (1992), Summer of Love BLM George Floyd Riots "Fiery But Peaceful" Riots of 2020.  But at no time were military troops other than state national guard deployed to American soil.  If Trump does this, even a conservative like myself is going to want Congressional hearings into "Why?" as well as looking into why the CA governor and LA mayor are both fanning the flames.

This is not a good development, but it's one major reason why I have no interest in living in the US. The country and state of my birth are now a bunch of loonies.

With all of that said, personally I'd be happy if California from Humboldt Country Southward and Central Valley Westward declared themselves a sovereign named something novel like The Democratic Republic of MexiCal and secede from the US leaving Northern California from Humboldt Country Northward and the Central Valley as part of the US.   They can ask China to send warships to help them like the US is doing for Taiwan.

  • Posse Comitatus Act (1878):
    • This law (18 U.S.C. § 1385) generally prohibits the use of federal military forces (Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Space Force) to enforce domestic laws unless expressly authorized by the Constitution or an act of Congress.

    • The Navy and Marine Corps were formally included in the Posse Comitatus Act’s restrictions through a 2021 amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act, though Department of Defense regulations had already applied similar restrictions to them.

    • The law aims to prevent the military from acting as a domestic police force, preserving the separation between military and civilian law enforcement to protect democratic principles and civil liberties.

  • Insurrection Act (10 U.S.C. §§ 251–255):  👈 Not good!
    • The Insurrection Act provides the primary exception to the Posse Comitatus Act, allowing the president to deploy federal troops, including Marines, on U.S. soil to suppress insurrections, rebellions, or domestic violence under specific conditions:
      • At the request of a state governor (10 U.S.C. § 251): If a state requests federal assistance to address an insurrection or civil disturbance that local authorities cannot control, the president can deploy troops.
      • Without state consent (10 U.S.C. § 252–253): The president can unilaterally deploy troops if an insurrection or domestic violence prevents the execution of federal or state laws or deprives citizens of their constitutional rights, and local authorities are unable or unwilling to act.
    • The president alone decides when to invoke the Insurrection Act, as courts have historically held that this decision is a political question not subject to judicial review.
