Sometimes Clean Energy can be Quite Dirty

I noticed the following in Science Daily today:-

Summary:  California s solar energy boom is often hailed as a green success story but a new study reveals a murkier reality beneath the sunlit panels. Researchers uncover seven distinct forms of corruption threatening the integrity of the state s clean energy expansion, including favoritism, land grabs, and misleading environmental claims. Perhaps most eyebrow-raising are allegations of romantic entanglements between senior officials and solar lobbyists, blurring the lines between personal influence and public interest. The report paints a picture of a solar sector racing ahead while governance and ethical safeguards fall dangerously behind.

And blackouts, rolling brownouts and the second highest electric rates in the country, second only to Hawaii.

Can you get any more deceptive with the silly headline.  Better headliner might be ...

... "\Corrupt politicians and businesses use Solar as a means to enrich themselves" ...

Reading the title I immediately though this was about the dirty harmonics created by solar inverters.

Interesting article thanks for sharing.

P.S.
Headline is spot on.

The title of the article is

"Clean energy, dirty secrets: Inside the corruption plaguing california’s solar market"

So nothing about Solar being a dirty form of energy.

I think you would be hard pressed to find any industry that doesn't have any "corruption or dirty secrets"

When I read the article I thought something a bit more technical too.

Strange to see scientists commenting and making a study of liars, cheats and thieves trying to capitalise on solar energy.
