You should get out a bit more a read less news Fred.

It seems to be doing your head in.

Yet another assumption. How would you know how much I go out, seeing you're also here a lot of the time? I leave my website open, so it might appear that I'm here all day. Sorry you can't get that. You definitely have a deep seated problem there Malcy, but there isn't any help for your condition, as it's ingrained since childhood.

Chaos erupted in Chiang Khan as a drunken foreigner attacked locals and vehicles with a wooden stick, causing pandemonium in the typically serene Isaan town. Residents promptly alerted the Chiang Khan Police Station after witnessing the suspect’s antics, including striking passersby and damaging multiple cars while recklessly riding a motorcycle.

The shocking events were quickly shared on social media, as concerned motorists warned others through photos and accounts of the foreigner’s bizarre behaviour.

Witnesses primarily attributed his actions to alcohol intoxication, though some speculated drug use could also be a factor. Upon their arrival, police found the foreigner, approximately aged 45 to 55, still at the scene, nationality unconfirmed, and attempted to search him for drugs to no avail.

Refusing the search led to the police arresting him and taking him to the station, where a wooden stick and a knife were confiscated.

Despite the chaotic episode, no severe injuries were reported. Authorities have charged the suspect under three legal provisions: Section 43(2) and Section 43(8) of the Land Transport Act for intoxicated and reckless driving, potentially yielding up to a one-year jail term and fines between 5,000 and 20,000 Baht.

Additionally, under Section 64 of the Vehicle Act, he faces charges for driving without a valid licence, risking up to a month’s imprisonment or a fine of up to 1,000 Baht.

This is not an isolated event. A similar incident occurred in Phang Nga Province, where another intoxicated foreign motorist was apprehended after crashing into a road construction vehicle and attempting to bribe officers with 10,000 Baht. Phuket, too, witnessed such antics in April when a foreign couple overturned a sedan and shamelessly danced around the wreck, earning significant public disapproval.

These incidents highlight a growing concern over unruly behaviour by some foreign visitors in Thailand, underscoring the importance of law enforcement vigilance to ensure public safety in tourist hotspots.

What is shocking? It´s almost a daily event that foreigners in Thailand behave aggressive, weird or just being an arse.

I'm sure I'm not the only one here who was waiting for you to show up, sticking up for you're alter ego members. Same lines, way of speaking, prejudiced overtones, foreigner blame,  and dismissing the fact that locals, again, do 99% of the crime here.

Also a daily, all day long event, with locals acting the same way.

Don't you understand he was drunk, and this might have contributed to his behavior? He could also be mentally ill, which might be the main reason he went off. Combining the two is a recipe for disaster.

We all know you have never smoked weed, as we can see by your answers you don't know much about it besides biased propaganda. I've been around weed lovers for over 52 years, and never have seen, nor heard, of anyone acting this way that wasn't already a loose cannon, and those were very few.

Alcohol has thousands die every year, something almost everyone knows, yet it's been legal for a long time. Weed should also be legal, as it doesn't have near the dangerous side effects alcohol does, and deaths contributed to weed are very few, while people die from alcohol every day of the year.

Freddy, you're not being practical again.

There are 70 million Thai's, there's a few rotten eggs who misbehave.
These days It seems every second foreigner is a nasty, disrespectful, rotten egg with mental health issues.

I like how the Thai's discipline the criminals, no slap on the wrist for this guy.

This guy will think twice next time.

Lessons learnt

It'd be nice to see Drunk Foreigner’s on a Wild Rampage get the same

There you go again, thinking half of the foreigners here are breaking laws. maybe you're one of them hiding with a Safety First username? The actual percentage of foreigners doing wrong here, taking away the tourists who misbehave in all countries, I doubt it's 5% of those that live here. Again, 99% of crime here is done by locals, and will continue unabated because enforcement is weak, and corruption is strong.

You mean the usual cowardly 5-10 against one? Oh wait, that's also done against the innocents here, with the usual assortment of sticks, machetes, knives, occasional guns and head kicking.

See you've got it wrong again.

It's a cowardly act to break the law, if this coward never broke the law these good Samaritans would not have to react.

BTW Freddy, I'm going to email AN admin, suggesting that each member is restricted to sending thumbs down emoji's to 1000 per month.

You are out of order sending your 10's of thousand every month.

Why do you keep saying again when I've not been wrong once? I don't, again, make opinions and go by facts and personal experience. Take a week and look at the daily news. I've seen it almost every day I've watched local news here, for over 7 years. Good Samaritans don't gang up on others 5 against 1 and hit them from behind, kick them when they're down and in the head. If someone is violently hurting others, yes, you do what you can to stop them, which doesn't mean kicking in the head while they're down and subdued. If someone hurt my child they would need a vacuum to pick them up, but of course that's what every dad should do.

And by the way, I don't use thumbs down to anyone besides the 5 or 6 here that makes ridiculous posts. I've done it to you like you've done it to me, but not like  you think. Look at your posts and see. If there's more than one thumbs down, it means others are doing it, and I don't give you any unless you deserve them. Assuming isn't evidence. See, you've got it wrong again.

As usual any news item drops into one of two categories

1. Trump

2. Weed is good alcohol is bad, when will people realize that over consumption of both is bad and mixing the two only worse, so do everything in moderation, small amounts of alcohol or weed are less likely to hurt you or those around you

and yes I am aware that I will now get attacked by the weed support group but I don't care, find a new cause to rant about

Exactly in everything, moderation. Nothing wrong with either if you can handle them.

To add:  I don't assume, but every time I post something, I see the thumbs downs coming, even if I said the sun came out today. If I would bet, I'm thinking 95% come from the same 6 or so members here. I can see them after I post at the bottom, and then I'll get a notification in a few other topics, and they'll also be there, so if you think I'm out of order with the few I use, look elsewhere, and maybe to yourself.

Did he actually hit somebody or something or tried to hit with that stick?
