Overland Adventure: Thailand, Malaysia to Indonesia Bali & Komodo – Who's In?!

Featured Replies

Hey everyone!

I'm cooking up an epic overland motorbike trip this November and wanted to see if any fellow adventurers are keen to join!

The plan is to ride through Malaysia, then freight my bike overnight to Indonesia. I've tentatively found a local agent to handle the bike's shipping paperwork, and I'll take a fast ferry to meet it the next day.

Once in Indonesia, the real island-hopping begins! I'll be making my way to Bali, with the ultimate goal of reaching Komodo Island to see the dragons in their natural habitat. This has been a huge bucket list item for me, and I can't wait to make it happen.

Is there anyone out there with a similar spirit of adventure who fancies tagging along? Let's hook up and see what these incredible roads have to offer!

Drop a comment or send me a message if you're interested.

Flores is better than Komodo and Rinca, can do scuba diving. Used to be a 3 day boat trip from Gili islands.

Do it yourself, you'll meet people on route

I have worked and lived in Indo. So am interested in theory. I have no interest in Bali or points further so wouldn't want to go any further than Banyuwangi.

How do we get back? Reverse trip?  We potentially will need export paperwork from Indo to export a bike back to Malaysia.
