Joe Rogan Regular Apologizes for Supporting Trump, Calls for Impeachment

Jun 16, 2025

Comedian and frequent Joe Rogan guest Dave Smith has apologized for supporting President Donald Trump, and is now calling for his impeachment. Smith, who hosts libertarian podcast Part of the Problem, said that he felt betrayed by Trump over his policy on Iran. "I supported him ... I apologize for doing so," he said during an appearance on the Breaking Points podcast. "He should be impeached and removed."

Why It Matters

Smith's comments come as Trump supporters criticize his response to recent military escalations in the Middle East. The backlash follows an Israeli airstrike last week targeting Iran's nuclear facilities, triggering a series of missile exchanges between the two nations.  Trump, who campaigned against getting involved in "endless wars," has supported Israel's actions.

...

The comedian is part of a rising wave of Trump-aligned voices turning against the president over the strikes. On Monday, former Fox News host Tucker Carlson said that if the U.S. is pulled into a war with Iran, it could mean the "end" of Trump's presidency—and "the American empire." [emphasis added]

He's losing the part of his base who voted for him based on his campaign promise to end wars.  What's happened instead?  The US is in a two front war in Ukraine and the Middle East as it ramps up to start bombing Iran.  That's not what his base voted for. And his real goal is war with China, but Ukraine and Iran is dragging his administration war-plans away from that front.  The Republicans can kiss Congress good-bye when the mid-terms come. Not that it matters - Dems and Repulicans are opposite sides of the same coin.  And they can kiss the presidency good-bye in 2028, well, until Dictator-In-Chief, King Trump, hasn't put the US under Martial Law due to the World War he created.

Yes there is room for dissent in the House. But Trump, as President of the United States of America and their Commander-in-Chief doesn't brook dissent or disagreement. He sees this as a personal slight against his laws and edicts.

Which supports the assertions that he's gravitating toward dictatorial rule.

Yep, can clearly see a MAGA split over this.

Top MAGA pollster warns Republicans will lose the majority for ‘the next decade’ if Trump gets involved in Israel-Iran

"A top MAGA pollster has warned that the Republicans may lose the majority in Congress “for the next decade” if President Donald Trump gets the U.S. more closely embroiled in the Israel-Iran conflict.

Big Data Poll Director Rich Baris took to X on Monday to argue that “Starting new foreign wars never helps a presidency. But it sure as Hell can end one, especially one predicated on not starting new wars overseas when we've been invaded and neglected at home.”"

Big deal. He only has the one term. It's who (or what) prevails in 2028 that really counts. If the American electorate bestows another bloody dunderhead on the free world, then we're all double-buggered

Which in themselves are totally groundless and nothing more than the ruminations of those that still hew to the fallacy that the Democrats, like Baldrick, had a better idea. He didn't and they never had.

He won't be allowed to become a dictator.

It's only a matter of time before Rogan recants... just like Musk.

Thankfully, this is starting to happen. I do have some friends that will come right out and say the man is a butthead, he's an idiot, and he's an absolute clown, but I like some of his policies. Those are the Republicans I admire.

During the 20 years that Clinton, Obama and Biden were in office I was continually critical of their policies. Just look back at some of my posts when Obama and Biden were in power. I was not a big fan of Obama for many of the years that he was president and my posts reflect that. As a centrist democrat I criticized a lot of his policies. So, why are republicans so unwilling to be critical of this guy?

I disagree about this not being a big deal, not only for 2026 but 2028. The MAGA camp has, until now, been completely obedient to Trump but it now seems to emerge that even for the cult there are lines he cannot cross without a push-back from some.

Of course, if he does a TACO and doesn't involve himself further with the war between Israel and Iran, then all is probably forgiven.

And we do know how much he loves himself some fresh TACO!

All Trump is is a grudge machine. He runs on that. All his rallys are merely him spitting out all the grudges.

he holds grudges and  drives on them, same as with revenge, they go together

Lawmakers move to limit Trump's war powers as Israel-Iran war escalates

Washington — Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle are looking to limit President Trump's ability to order U.S. strikes on Iran amid its ongoing war with Israel, emphasizing that only Congress has the power to declare war under the Constitution.

"This is not our war," Republican Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky said in a post on X Tuesday announcing that he had introduced a measure under the 1973 War Powers Resolution to block U.S. strikes. "Even if it were, Congress must decide such matters according to our Constitution."

...

Massie's resolution aims to force the president to seek congressional approval before entering a war with Iran and would terminate the use of U.S. armed forces against Iran without Congress' expressed approval. It's cosponsored by Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna of California, who urged "every member to go on record" in a post on X on Monday.

MTG, Tucker Carlson urge Trump to stay out of Iran, exposing a MAGA rift

WASHINGTON — The prospect of potential U.S. military action in Iran is facing strong resistance from within the MAGA movement, with some of President Donald Trump's most ardent supporters urging him not join Israel in conducting air strikes.

Conservative pundit Tucker Carlson and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who sat near Trump in the VIP section at his military parade over the weekend, are among the MAGA stars pressing for the U.S. military to stay out of the fight, which they say is out of step with the movement's principles.

Greene said in a June 16 social media post that "foreign wars/intervention/regime change put America last, kill innocent people, are making us broke, and will ultimately lead to our destruction."
