A devastating hit-and-run accident has claimed the life of 30-year-old Oranuch, a convenience store worker, in Chon Buri. The incident occurred on the Bypass Road near Phra Phrom Village at 11 pm on June 17.

Officers from Mueang Chon Buri Police Station, along with rescue teams from the Trikuntham Foundation, rushed to the scene where they discovered Oranuch's body next to her heavily damaged Honda Wave motorcycle. A second individual was seriously injured and transported to Chon Buri Hospital.

Oranuch's husband, Ek, was in shock when he couldn’t reach her by phone. Venturing out to find her, he stumbled upon the accident, realising his wife had been struck and left to die by an unknown vehicle. The tragedy unfolded just three months after the couple welcomed a new baby, amplifying the heartbreak.

A colleague confirmed that Oranuch and the injured individual had left work less than half an hour before the accident. News of the crash was relayed by a familiar motorcycle taxi driver, prompting the colleague to verify the victim's identity at the scene.

Ek recounted that Oranuch had set off from work around 10 pm, riding home as usual. Her failure to return prompted his search, which led him to the tragic discovery.

A nearby truck driver reported hearing a loud crash while buying food. Investigating the noise, he saw Oranuch's overturned motorcycle next to his truck, with red debris scattered on the road, indicating another vehicle's involvement.

Police are now examining CCTV footage in hopes of identifying the vehicle responsible for the hit-and-run, seeking justice for Oranuch and her grieving family.

This tragic incident has deeply affected the community, highlighting the urgent need for responsible driving and the consequences of leaving accident victims without aid.
