You don't, as you can use body weight in many exercises to stay in shape. A gym is good because of three things. You pay and you'll usually go, and when you go you'll see others working out and are motivated by that. Otherwise it's self motivation in another setting without others. Some will pay and never go but we're talking about those who want gains. two, a gym has everything you need to work al muscle groups, and safely if you use just machines. Three, it's air conditioned(usually) and it's easier to work out in that environment, especially with weights.
Being the great sports and fitness and travel expert you would have thought that a regular visitor/semi resident of Chiang Mai would have known about the very famous 700 year old stadium!
A Zebra crossings is probably the most dangerous place to cross the road in Thailand as it gives a false feeling of security. Nobody driving is expecting the vehicle infront of them to stop and risk being run into from behind.
Only cross on a zebra crossing if you are very fast or have a death wish.
