Good Morning,

I know this was covered before, but it was 13 years ago, and info changes.

I wish to sell a bunch of SIP shares I hold in a U.K. company I worked for. I have the physical certificates. They are registered with Equniti who say they cannot do anything because I am not resident in U.K.

I have no family left, and no-one with whom I can use a U.K. address.

The Company say they cannot help, contact Equiniti......going in circles.

I am trying to dissolve my portfolio in order to simplify things for my Wife & Son.

Can anyone recommend a broker or trading Company they have used that is trustworthy, and will not rip me of. As you can imagine, I am wary of anyone in the land of scams getting hold of my assets.....so to speak.

Any info that can be offered would be gratefully received.

i just asked the question in Deepseek app, which gave a good process to follow. I can't post it here as it isn't allowed to post from AI so install the app and ask the question or message me and I'll do screen shots for you

Did it with Equinity several years ago with the same situation. I had a offshore stockbroker and just transferred the shares from Equinity to my offshore broker.

Is it possible to know the name of the company. As I mentioned, I am looking for someone who is trustworthy.

Ramsey Crookall in the IOM. Talked to them and Equinity. Ramsey Crookall supplied a form to request the transfer. Can't remember all the details but both of them were very helpful. If you bank with Lloyds Offshore you can submit a form authorising payments to and from Ramsey Crookall.

I used to use Eqiniti then I stopped trading. But recently I came i to some shares and used Hargreaves Landsdowne. They may require a UK address which Ive got. They cost nothing to join unlike Equniti.

So I think the moral of this is to keep a UK address.

Agreed, It cost me nothing to be with Equiniti as they are the company that the share company uses.  alas, re the UK address, that went along with the last of my relatives.
