Holidaymakers enjoying the sunset at Bang Saen Beach were left in shock, when the body of an unidentified man was found washed ashore in full view of beachgoers.

The incident occurred around 18:00 on 4 July, when tourists and locals dining in the beachfront area noticed what appeared to be a man lying face down in the water near the shoreline. On closer inspection, they discovered that the man was deceased.

Officers from Saensuk Police Station and rescue workers from the Thammaratsamee Maneerat Foundation were dispatched to the scene, located in Saensuk Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chonburi Province.

Emergency responders retrieved the body, later identified as that of a man believed to be around 40 years old. He was dressed in a short-sleeved black shirt and three-quarter-length denim trousers. No identification documents were found on the body, only a key attached to his waist and a pair of spectacles.

A tourist who witnessed the discovery said: “I was sitting and eating with my group under an umbrella along the beach when I looked out to sea and saw something that looked like a person floating face-down in the surf. When we realised he wasn’t moving, we alerted the police and rescue team.”

Police confirmed that the cause of death remains unknown. There were no immediate signs of foul play. Investigators are working to identify the deceased and contact his relatives. Authorities are not ruling out the possibility of drowning or suicide but are awaiting further evidence before reaching any conclusions.

Anyone who may have information about the man or who is searching for a missing relative is urged to contact Saensuk Police Station.

The investigation is ongoing.

More surprised not to see phones out recording the sight.

The deceased may have been a local and not obviously a tourist.

They don't look to be in shock, rather interested  in the event.
