Big time. They're going to put a lot of people out of work and businesses without a livelihood.

It will impact tax revenue as well.

And the cost of imprisoning 150 thousand people won't be cheap

Not only that, some business entrepreneurs sank their last baht into some of these stores. Life savings, means of financial support and livilihoods will vanish. Many familys will become destitute from this! It is truly sad.

Is there any evidence that any families sunk their all their money into a dope business? I don't believe it. Sound just like propaganda to me.

If not; the campaigners could produce one thousand families who have invested their money in the dope business.

how can you have an offence if its not illegal asks confused?

They are not offences as you say, but they are the illegal actions of people under the influence of cannabis

I rarely go in a bud shop and usually order online thru Prikpot.  Recently I was in Bangkok and went in a nice glass front bud shop on THONGLO. I went in and the shop keeper, maybe he was owner, IDK and one young Thai man.  I didn’t need any product, but I bought two small one-hit thing about the size of cigarette for gift to someone.  300ea and 600 total.  He told me I just made his day!  I translate that to I was his first customer that day. That really is sad.  I dropped his a healthy tip in his jar.  Main reason for going in was to ask about the doctor part of the new requirement.  I was currious how often someone needs to get a Dr approval…he said valid 30 days.  So like I said in a cannabis forum about 2 years ago…this is just an extra money maker, my guess for the gov or the hiso.

You have got to be kidding me.   JHC dude!!

Surely you can't be so uninformed:

The dope lobby is quite powerful, but it can't get around the inconvenient truth about the negative effects of cannabis on mental health.

All people think about is the cost of dope shops closing, rather than the cost of lost productivity.

JHC Dude!!! .... *sniggering at you*

Well snigger all you want. Here is factual news from America. Sadly your post is but an opinion. 24/50 states have now legalized weed with no adverse effects in any way. Each state is making a lot of money off the tax and this goes for the public good. In addition 40/50 states now support medical marijuana. These are facts once again.  Oh and WTF is a dope lobby?

" Prohibition in the US " should have teached something .... Drug Cartels will take over what now is legal .

The CDC report shows medical facts and data on the detrimental effects of dope on the human brain.

You think that business interests driven by the profit to be made from dope are more believable than the CDC though. Next you'll be saying that McDonald's is health food.

With their silly flip-flopping they are ruining one of the very few industries that has shown some growth.

"Most cannabis entrepreneurs in Phuket, he noted, have yet to recoup their investments, which typically range from 500,000 to 10 million baht."
