Obviously, he wants to open up a gas chamber.

Or may be its original use and fumigate a ship.

I would move to Dominican Republic in a New York minute if the hurricanes weren't so devastating. There is NOTHING hotter than watching a pissed off Dominican chick tearing some punter a new a$$hole.

Would like to spend a year or two in Taiwan, then head back to Australia for my sunset years. Must admit that am somewhat concerned that the Australia I would be returning will be too different to what I left sixteen years ago to feel sufficiently at ease.

I decided to return to OZ a few years back and don't regret doing so. I am not rich, just a pensioner just living on the pension, no Super anymore, which I spend in LOS I am doing OK.

It's a really personal decision.

I was fine in Thailand until I wasn't, boredom kinda set in and I wanted to work.

I looked into various European and south American  countries, but it just ended up easier just to move back to the US and have Thailand as our vacation destination

In the US I don't have to think about visas, immigration, wife is a green card holder, son is a citizen, I'm just too old for hassle

My wife is Thai, and I have been married for 20 years. My wife is a dual passport holder (I am in OZ). No problems with visas at all.

I’ve been wondering: if one could pick anywhere else in the world to live, places like Dubai, Zürich, Monte Carlo, the south of France, Hawaii, you name it, anywhere you might dream about, would you actually leave Thailand?

I just did a search on Dalat, Vietnam.

Never been, but the temperate eternal spring climate seems appealing, as well as the pine trees, lakes , and low cost of living.

Not trying to be a spoiler, but right now it is risky for green card holders to travel out of country.  There have been some well publicized cases of green card holders being denied reentry when they return from abroad.  And don't think it can't happen to your wife.

If money was not an issue thailand would be empty...

A lot of truth in that statement.   Don't know where I'd go, but it wouldn't by here in TH.

How long was it before you decided to move back to the Us and what is your age?

I'm kind of feeling the same thing. I miss the feeling of being productive. Sometimes Thailand feels like I'm just burning time and not getting anything done or building something better (not moving ahead in life).
