Do You Avoid Other Foreigners You Meet in Thailand?

Featured Replies

Since I'm above-average attractive, I notice that most foreigners don't dare to talk to me. Very calming.

I find the older ones are the worst, with their predictable chat, how long you been here, know everything, done everything, alcoholics, best avoided

  • Like the plague.

I usually politely greet guys I meet in Makro or Tops. I don't seek them out but I will say good morning etc. I don't engage with them but I don't avoid them.

If the guy happens to be India, extremely rare, I say "Sorry about the cricket" and continue an my way.

I am the same, but wary of a new bloke that appears at my local watering hole, where it is usually only me with Thai locals.

In fact, we do have a new bloke, who is a complete tool, an old, fat tosser that thinks is so sort of Casanova, he hasn't fell in yet that the ladies sussed him out a while back.

He knows I am not amused with his antics, and phone on speaker chatting to old slappers...........🙄

Since you are name dropping in an attempt to be superior, my favourite event is the Oxford University and Cambridge University annual Christmas dinner each December in Bangkok.

Most attendees are high ranking Thais.

No riff-raff there.

Being a barback for an event does that mean you attended it.

You guys are pathetic social climbers. I can't even mention who I hang out with in Thailand it's not for  here, nor is it appropriate. I have to bow a lot though.

Only common courtesy I guess when you are 'waiting on'.

5555555 Good one! I was wondering who would jump on that, there is a mental hierarchy of the Trump deranged crowd and it seems you're the top

Wow, sounds serious. All that secret bowing must be exhausting. Must be tough living such a high-level life that you can’t even name-drop like the rest of us peasants. Don’t worry though, we’ll just take your word for it. After all, nothing screams credibility like vague bragging and a mysterious social life you just can’t talk about.

Don't get too excited it's not a very high hill

Certain things in Thailand are not the subject of discussion. If you're ever been there, you would know that.

Yep, the biggest bog hole in SE Asia, but comes to Thailand to party and hang out with thugs who worship his company.

Nope, can't afford to go there. But I've been dreaming about it for 30 years. Maybe one day.

I'm above average attractive too in fact I'm a combination of Ric flair, Fabio and Cary Grant so most of the Backpacker chicks in Siem Reap flock to me. My boys take care of their boyfriends if they object, the crocodile farm is right down the road

Gotta say, Yagoda is a great guy.

But I suspect you'll only be posting on this forum for a short time.

It's a dump. It was better back in the 80s when you could fire RPGs for fun. And you had to carry a carton of cigarettes in your car to avoid some dangerous fate while being stopped on the road by police for no reason.

It was bikini Heaven There last High season. Loads of nubile French German Israeli and Italian girls. A paucity of Russians though that sucks

They've made some improvements, the pool is redone. New water system too.
