Bangkok Shock: Man's Stone-Throwing Spree Stopped by Locals

Tempers flared and traffic halted as chaos erupted on Srinakarin Road, Bangkok, yesterday. A man, described as unstable, wielded a metal rod and hurled stones at passing cars, leaving commuters in a state of shock.

Captured in a viral TikTok video by user @ion_x_noi, the scene quickly drew the attention of brave locals who sprang into action to subdue the rampaging individual.

Eyewitnesses described the man as distressed, muttering to himself as he picked up stones and aimed them at vehicles, putting motorists at risk. The intervention of several good Samaritans, including a quick-thinking delivery rider and local residents, proved crucial in defusing the situation.

Despite the man’s significant strength and initial resistance, they successfully managed to restrain him without any injuries.

In a disturbingly similar incident, authorities in Buachet district, Surin province, faced a threat from a monk wielding a knife and axe in a temple confrontation. The monk, 42-year-old Kanatsak, reportedly experienced a severe mental health crisis and was seen threatening villagers at the Ban Srae temple.

Police, alongside emergency responders and hospital staff, intervened to handle the tense standoff.

Upon reaching the scene, officers found Kanatsak actively menacing locals and managed to subdue him, employing rope to restrain his limbs before transporting him to Buachet Hospital for psychiatric evaluation.

However, while in medical care, Kanatsak briefly escaped his bonds, causing a stir among hospital staff and patients. Fortunately, the situation was swiftly contained, and no injuries were reported.

Kanatsak’s family revealed his position as the abbot of Ban Khok Sa-at Temple and confirmed his ongoing struggles with mental illness. He is now under observation and receiving necessary treatment at Buachet Hospital, as the community looks to address the incident’s underlying issues.

Both episodes spotlight significant challenges around mental health awareness and community safety in Thailand. Local authorities continue to urge the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour to prevent similar occurrences.

Why? The majority of nutters here are Thai. Why would you think otherwise?

Why aren't they all stomping on his head like they do when a foreigner doesnt pay a bar bill in Pattaya?
