Two people have died and two others were injured after a car driver lost control and crashed into a roadside drainage pipe in the early hours of the morning of 13 July.

The incident occurred around 04:00 along Highway 220 (Si Sa Ket–Khukhan Road), in front of the Si Sa Ket Highway Department office in Mak Khiap Subdistrict, Mueang District.

Upon receiving the emergency call, officers from Mueang Si Sa Ket Police Station rushed to the scene, where they found the vehicle had veered off the road and struck a concrete drainage pipe with significant force. The car was heavily damaged from the impact.

Two passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. Rescue workers swiftly transported two others who sustained injuries to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash, including the possibility of excessive speed, driver fatigue or driver impairment, as they work to determine the exact cause of the crash.
