The TTB biometric block shock

Featured Replies

Just like some of the other banks TTB has a requirement to go to the bank to provide biometric/facial verification. They provided very little notice of this. I did not see the notice until the day after it went into effect.

What is shocking about the TTB situation is that they lock you into the limit that you set on the account and will not allow that to be changed until 9th of September

Since I had my daily limit set at zero baht I now have no way to transfer/use online a single baht until September. By providing my biometrics I can now, however, withdraw at the bank counter and via the card at an ATM.

This is a fairly shockingly inept service by TTB. At least with the other banks once you did the biometrics everything went back to normal immediately.

Why on earth would you set your daily limit to zero THB to start with.

To secure the funds. They can't be scammed if it's 0. I found my money getting skimmed off to a Steam Account about 2 years ago. The simplest way to stop this is to drop the daily limit to 0, and then for a few minutes every month raise it to make large transfers for the month.

I use another bank for my daily transactions. And this other account is locked into Lazada, Grab etc, as well as other sites that have the linked card details.

This ensures the maximum I could be scammed is tiny.
