In the bustling streets of Bangkok, a routine late-night trip for milk turned traumatic for one resident of the Fortune Condo Narathiwas, sparking widespread anger online. The woman, whose encounter with an aggressive stranger at a local 7-Eleven has captured public attention, is now challenging the police’s handling of the incident.

The woman described entering the store to find a man in visible distress, prompting her to offer assistance. “He appeared to be fainting, red and sweaty,” she recounted. “I decided to get him some water.” Yet, her good intentions took a dark turn when the man unexpectedly attacked her.

“He suddenly choked me from behind,” she explained. Managing to escape, she rushed to her condo and immediately alerted the police. From her window, she watched in disbelief as officers merely spoke to the suspect, escorting him away without any formal action.

Confounded by the response, she contacted the police again, only to be told the situation was not severe. Officials advised her to gather evidence and details independently if she wished to pursue charges.

Her investigation unveiled a troubling pattern. The man, a constant source of disturbance at his own condominium, reportedly had a history of aggressive behaviour. Security personnel and other residents shared similar experiences, including incidents of harassment and aggression.

When police finally apprehended him, the suspect allegedly attempted to attack an officer during transport. Despite this, he was fined merely 500 baht for “disruptive behaviour.”

The repercussions of this inadequate response left her distraught. “The law states assault without visible injury can lead to major penalties,” she noted, expressing frustration over the leniency shown.

Refusing to accept silence, she took her story to social media, posting in both English and Thai. The narrative swiftly garnered attention, igniting calls for justice and reevaluation of law enforcement protocols.

“This isn’t just my fight,” she asserted. “The system needs accountability, and I’ll keep raising my voice until there’s change.”

This case highlights growing concerns over police efficiency and the broader implications for public safety in Bangkok. As discussions unfold online, the pressure mounts on authorities to reexamine policy enforcement and ensure protection for all citizens.

Was it a Farang? Was it? Ahhh, I see. What a shame for the poor girl, next time leave well alone, no nothing, no help, no cups of water.

No good deed goes unpunished.

Her response was too gentle when assaulted.

Not just freeing herself, but good to give that so* sufficient pain as good lesson; cost of senseless aggression.

Title says Self-defense for woman.

But useful to anyone else as well.

Yet another shameless episode from the BiB, just too lazy to do anything that doesn't involve baht.

A stain on the country nationwide.

Your attempt at humour failed. Always best to include a smiley.
She had a pair by trying to help that POS and got flack for her efforts. All for putting a whinging Doris in her place, but blokes roughing women up are weak and sad.

Not intended to be humour, but I take your point.

This was an out and out dig at......no names.....for their ridiculously, extreme misogynist view on the matter of women being hassled.

I have three tall, beautiful (tall is a fact) daughters. Their lives are plagued by uninvited attention from moronic males, to the extent two of them have changed careers and moved out of London to the countryside.

Many men (most men?) have no idea of the impact they have on women with their crass behaviour, and those that do....... don't seem to care.

Exactly why I've taught my girls self defense and how to hurt fast, then walk away. I've trained many women in the gyms I worked at , that were victims and wanted to get stronger to protect themselves. I told them of the attitude they need to acquire, that it's not just strength but the instinct. Women will always be weaker than a strong man, and they aren't supposed to go toe to toe, but learn the vital spots, hit fast to hurt, then leave.

This girl did the right thing by stopping it fast. When these types are jailed and fined, they might think twice before touching another woman. Or not, as this is a learned behavior that's ingrained from being a victim or watching a perpetrator in their own homes.

I went to school and there was a bully that picked on almost everyone. He would bury cats and run over them with a mower. He married a really nice girl from school and went on to beat the crap out of her until she left. Many women end up mistreating their future partners after going through abusive relationships with cowards.
