A British national has died after falling from the 10th floor of a condominium in the Chang Khlan area of Chiang Mai on the night of 18 July.

The incident occurred shortly before midnight. Local authorities responded to reports of a man falling from a high-rise building. On arrival, they found the deceased at the scene. His identity has not yet been released pending official notification of next of kin.

His girlfriend, who was present at the time of the fall, was reportedly too traumatised to speak with police in the immediate aftermath. Emergency responders, police officers, and foreign volunteers at the scene worked to console her. She later managed to contact family members in the UK.

Initial investigations indicate that the couple had been on holiday in Thailand and were due to return home next month to get married.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fall. A full interview with the girlfriend is expected once she is ready to provide a formal statement.

Authorities have not confirmed whether foul play is suspected and are awaiting the results of a forensic examination of the scene.

The British Embassy in Bangkok has been informed and is expected to assist in contacting the family.
