In a harrowing case that has shocked Chiang Mai, a Thai transwoman named Bell is seeking justice after suffering a brutal assault at the hands of a man she had previously met through a dating app. The ordeal began after Bell rejected his romantic advances following their one-night stand.

Bell, who narrowly escaped with her life, approached the Emmy Volunteer Team for help in filing a formal complaint at Chang Phueak Police Station. The assault happened on 18 July, escalating after she made it clear she wanted no further contact with the man.

Despite her attempts to distance herself, Bell was met with stalking and controlling behaviour. The man, infatuated and persistent, began showing up uninvited at her accommodation. Matters took a violent turn when he discovered Bell in her room with another man, leading him into a rage.

During the attack, Bell endured severe violence. Her assailant slapped her, hit her with a glass bottle, and threatened her life. The violence escalated as he dragged her to a nearby forest, where she was subjected to further assault and rape.

Bell’s nightmare did not end there. She recounted being taken to her attacker’s accommodation, where the abuse continued despite her dire injuries. Remarkably, she managed an escape by claiming she needed to meet her sister. Before letting her go, the man forced her to conceal her injuries with makeup.

Her ordeal was compounded by theft. Bell reported the man had stolen her phones, personal documents, and valuables, leaving her not only traumatised but also deprived of essential possessions.

Nivad “Emmy” Sukeaw, founder of the Emmy Volunteer Team, stated in an interview with Channel 7 that the suspect remains at large. Despite being sought by the police, he has contacted Bell, seeking forgiveness and unwisely attempting to rekindle their relationship.

The case highlights the urgent need for stronger protective measures and justice for vulnerable individuals. Many are calling for swift action to ensure the perpetrator faces accountability. Community advocates stress the importance of awareness and support networks for victims of such crimes, urging societal change to prevent future incidents.

As the investigation continues, Bell’s bravery in speaking out serves as a poignant reminder of the challenges faced by the transgender community in confronting violence and seeking justice. The outcome of this case will be closely watched, both locally and internationally, as a measure of Thailand’s commitment to human rights and the protection of marginalised groups.

The community is now eager for the authorities to act decisively and reassure the public of their dedication to justice and safety for all.

Gotta say the injuries don't look any worse than a couple of guys trading a few punches on an evening out. No wait, this was two guys trading a few punches ...........

  • Transgender or not, if the victim's allegations are proved, the aggressor should be arrested and charged.

  • Don't know, but there's definitively one a** ***e here.   PS. Make that two.

In Thailand, some women have a penis and even some men can have a vagina. It is very far from the majority but... TIT.  :ermm:

It is a victim of stalking and assault. The perpetrator did not have a problem with the gender identity but certainly had a problem with self control and proper behavior. We have rules for what happens next and gender is not part of the equation.

Consider this, what is the appropriate outcome if our victim was presenting as male and was stalked and brutally assaulted?  There are psychos out there that like to beat up people they perceive as weaker. Do we ignore it if some man is beaten up for no reason?

I'm really angry at my parents right now. How could they never tell me that there are not only men and women, but also trans women and trans men? I feel like they completely misinformed me!

It´s well known and wide-spread, that people today are free to choose their pronoun, and that they also should be respected for their choice.

Just who the h3ll do you think you are trying to take away the rights of people to call a man with a penis 'he' you freak.

Never took away your right to call anybody what you want. What I do, is discussion the decency and respect that comes with your way of calling a person the opposite pronoun to what they also rightfully have chosen for themselves. Basically, we are talking about that you show great disrespect to other peoples choices. That´s how it was. Things got a bit clearer now?

Who I think I am? I would say, a person who respect other peoples choices, and their right to live their lives as they please. Now you can think about the definition freak, and the explanation above. Use common sense, where do you think most people would put that label?

Yet here you are, completely disrespecting my choice to call a man with a penis 'he'.

Yes, I do, as your definition, already disrespected the person in question, choice. I am pretty sure you are old enough to understand, that respect has to be deserved. Be disrespectful, and you are met with disrespect. Show respect, and you become a person to respect.

You again. Oh my. Have fun.

A penis wielding man demanding others don't call him a 'he' is disrespecting everybody, himself included. 🙂

Stop trying to place your fruitloopism onto others.

IMO anyone has the right to call themselves whatever they want but they have no right to demand that anyone has to call/address them by their choice.

E.G.  Someone describes themselves as a "Klingon"  does not meant that I have to!

If I know it has a dick I will call it a man!

Male or female?

This topic proves people will argue over a fly going up the wall

Are they arguing as whether it is a fly, the breed of fly or how it will go up the wall etc;?

You are just scared of them, right? or, just maybe you made a mistake one time, and can´t forget it. 🤣

You're having a meltdown. 😞

OK, I like to think that a ladyboy is a woman with a "plus" and it can be funny to play with this can of character who have big boobs, a round welcoming butt and a pecker.

This is just standard grade violence in that community. Most of the story is probably lies. The accused probably has damage too
