REPORT: Cannabis Beverages Are Booming While Alcohol Sales Slump

Is Booze on the Way Out While THC Drinks Are Booming?

While alcohol sales dropped by 3% last year in the US, THC-infused beverages made from hemp have quietly become a billion-dollar industry. These drinks are legal in all 50 states and can be sold in liquor stores, giving people a new way to relax or socialize, but without the hangover.

Plenty of posters here often slag off weed as some stoner’s hobby that stinks up the place and turns brains to mush. But let’s be honest, times are really changing. These new drinks don’t smell, they don’t involve lighting anything up, and they’re catching on with people who’ve never smoked anything in their lives. It’s not just about getting high, it’s about finding a gentler, cleaner, less costly alternative to booze.

And unlike alcohol, THC doesn’t trash your liver, cause heart problems, raise blood pressure or flood your system with toxins. So maybe what we’re seeing isn’t just a fad but the start of a major shift. Could be that alcohol’s long reign is winding down, and a new era is bubbling up in a can with 5mg of mellow green.

Limited to 0.3% THC, up to 10 mg in a serving, may have some/more CBD.

This drinks category are available here, although limited to 0.2 % THC.
