In Belgium also. This lead t a court case, the result of which was that arms shipment to Israel via Belgium are not allowed anymore.

Perhaps the European Dockworkers, and many others, think the response has gone way to far And want no part in providing assistance to the continuing slaughter of innocent civilians.

When you Occupy a country, have a blockade, plan to Annex, discriminate, have an Apartheid state, take thousands of hostages(administrative detainees who get no trial, regularly 'mow the lawn' killing hundreds of Palestinians in Gaza and illegally harass people in the West bank, burn their houses and steal their land, what the frick do you expect. This post doesn't make sense at all. The criticism of Israel is for the present actions in Gaza and the west bank. The criticism of you is about equating criticism of Israel with support for hamas.

Hurling blitz by young players to keep in mind the tragedy in Gaza

Eight teams representing a city or town in Gaza and the West Bank will participate in a hurling blitz to keep in mind the ongoing tragedy in the Middle East.

 

Gaels Against Genocide has organised the event under the theme of Paisti ag tacu le paisti, on Sunday August 17, at Sarsfields in Belfast. All money raised will go towards Gaza Mobile Maternity Unit.

 

The blitz will last two hours - 7200 seconds - organisers said with each second representing seven children killed or injured since Oct 7 2023.

Fresh demonstrations against Israel's military offensive in Gaza erupted in Greece on Wednesday, with protesters clashing with police as an Israeli cruise ship docked in the port city of Volos.

 

There have been several protests at various Greek ports in recent weeks against the Crown Iris cruise ship, which is operated by Israeli shipping giant Mano Maritime and is currently touring around Greece.

 

In the coastal city of Volos, located some 330 kilometres north of Athens, demonstrators protesting the arrival of the Crown Iris were dispersed by riot police using stun grenades.

German Development Minister Reem Alabali Radovan has urged Israel to release withheld tax revenues owed to the Palestinian Authority (PA), warning that its collapse could fuel instability in the West Bank.

 

Speaking to dpa during a visit to Jordan, Alabali Radovan said the PA, led by President Mahmoud Abbas, is under unprecedented political and economic pressure. Israel has a responsibility to immediately transfer the taxes due to the Palestinians, she said.

 

Israel collects customs duties and taxes on behalf of the PA under the 1990s Oslo peace accords but has withheld transfers since May. Palestinian officials say the freeze has crippled their ability to pay salaries and maintain services, a situation experts warn militant group Hamas could exploit.

Alabali Radovan said Germany would consider providing additional budgetary support to the PA and discuss further aid with European partners.

A vigil was held opposite Downing Street on Wednesday for the nearly 200 journalists killed in Gaza since the war began in October 2023.

 

Ahead of the gathering, the National Union of Journalists' (NUJ) London freelance branch handed a letter to Number 10 calling on the prime minister to clarify what steps the government is taking to protect journalists in Gaza and to ensure they have safe access to food, water and necessary equipment.

 

They also asked what the government is doing to get international journalists into Gaza to report freely. Currently, Israel only allows them in under IDF supervision.

Tens of thousands of demonstrators wearing red gathered in Brussels on Sunday to protest against the Israeli government and to draw a symbolic red line against its war in Gaza. Protesters are also calling on EU member states to take a tougher stance and impose firm sanctions against Israel.

 

Local police estimated around 70,000 demonstrators took part in the second edition of Brussels' 'Red Line for Gaza' march, but protest organisers estimate 110,000 people attended the march across the Belgian capital, which was 3.5 kilometres long.

 

More than 200 human rights groups and aid agencies, including Oxfam, Doctors without Borders, Amnesty International, Greenpeace, Save the Children, and more, participated and are drawing the red line.

MADRID (Reuters) -Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said on Monday his government would increase pressure on Israel by banning Israel-bound ships and aircraft carrying weapons from calling at Spanish ports or entering Spanish airspace.

 

He also said the Spanish government would increase aid to the Palestinian authority and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and would impose an embargo on goods made in Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.

 

"We hope that they will serve to add pressure on Prime Minister Netanyahu and his government to alleviate some of the suffering that the Palestinian population is enduring," Sanchez said in a public address aired on local TV.
