If you claim that he has donated money he has stolen over the years then you must have the proof that he stole it. Now if only you can lay out the links and facts to follow that up I may begin to believe you. However as you have not, I can hardly take your unsupported word for it. IMHO, IF he did steal the money, there will be a lot of Thai people who would be only to eager to spill the beans on him, especially the yellow shirts, the ultra-royalists and the military, just for starters, yet over the years he has been around, nobody seems to have done so yet.

August 4, 2025Aug 4 Could there be greater hypocrisy. one The recent diplomatic fallout between Cambodia's Senate President Hun Sen and Thailand's Shinawatra family—particularly Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra and her father, former PM Thaksin Shinawatra—has sparked intense regional scrutiny and public debate. two this comediant is donating 1 million baht to the soldiers defending our border with Cambodia. How many sodiers are there, honestly I wouldn't know. Let us imagine between 10000 and 1000. This means that every soldier will get between 1000 and 100 to risk their lifes. This is on the assumption that nothing sticks between the generals and the soldiers. and that guy is as proud as a peacock of course. TIT
August 4, 2025Aug 4 Positive Publicity in full swing for just 1 million baht. All news paper and tv coverage! How good value for the money !

August 4, 2025Aug 4 Popular Post I am not defending the man, but some of the assumptions and comments made defy common sense. The fact is that very few if any of Thailand's wealthy are contributing anything. He gave something. Yes, it is nice PR and it comes at a time when he has had some bad media, particularly with the previous PM's embarrassment with the leaked recording. And yes, it makes for a nice distraction. Now people will say, what a fine patriot he is, rather than how could he have allowed the mess with Cambodia. 50 minutes ago, Bday Prang said: the really altruistic donate discreetly so one would never know it will be dirty money and should be returned to him That is a western concept that comes from the Judeo-Christian teachings in both the Old and New testaments of the bible. That is not how Thais do it. Very few donations are done discreetly. They want everyyone to see their making merit. In this case, aside from the PR, another reason why some donations are publicized is to encourage others to donate. Although, the man is not particularly honest, I don't know if this is dirty money, as he did make much of his fortune from the sale of AIS and the investment of that sum. 6 hours ago, Bert got kinky said: Don't be mistaken, the toxic one has never donated any of his own money. Unless you are in the top 30% of Thai taxpayers, it is highly unlikely that your taxes cover the benefits that you receive, no matter their quality. One of the weaknesses of your comment is that it does not take into account the incremental cost of infrastructure such as roads, healthcare, protective services etc. 7 hours ago, JJ-Thailand said: Maybe he can deduct the generous donation from his taxes, if he pays any. Yes, he pays taxes. The past military regimes and their successor administrations, audited him closely. If they could have found something, anything, they would have used it against him. Don't forget the audits they put him through.

You haven't even come up with even a guesstimate let alone a percentage, which was a relatively simple request. How many Thais have you personally met and asked them what they think about Thaksin out of the probable 40 million voters? The PPP are supposed to be the most popular party in Thailand. Granted that they won more seats than any other party at the last election, yet they still could not form a government, not even a coalition government with any other political party.

No, you asked 'What percentage of Thais ridicule him?' and my reply was 'many', I did not quote figures nor did I claim any. Just for your educational purposes, from the Merriam-Webster dictionary: Many: 1: consisting of or amounting to a large but indefinite number 2: being one of a large but indefinite number How many Thais have you personally met and asked them what they think about Thaksin out of the probable 40 million voters? 39,539,190, I refuse to ever step foot in Phuket again, so some of these voters are inaccessible. The PPP are supposed to be the most popular party in Thailand. Granted that they won more seats than any other party at the last election, yet they still could not form a government, not even a coalition government with any other political party. Neither could the PTP. 🙃 All that you can do is cry that your crooked idol is being picked on by nearly everyone. Do you really believe that he is innocent and all that he does is for the good of the Thai people? Blinded by the truth.
