ผม is used by males only. ฉัน is usually used by females, though it can be used by males, usually if closer friends.

I think correct but try using this, or maybe my Thai needs improving. 🤔

Good enough to be understood. Shorten to ใส่กล่องครับ will get you there.

Exactly.  So ฉัน is also correct to be used by males in an informal setting.  I often use ฉัน when chatting with the 7/11 staff 🙂

กรุณาใส่กล่องให้หน่อยครับ or ใส่กล่องให้หน่อยครับ are much more natural sounding.

If male then ฉัน would only be used on occasion by close friends . More often than not if you hear males using ฉัน then they would be gay men.

Certainly not correct to use ฉัน if you are neither gay or or close friends with the person you are talking to.

 ใส่กล่องให้หน่อยครับ softens the sentence and makes it slightly more polite although as you say ใส่กล่องครับ will get you there.
