Report Thai Flag Drapes BTS Trains in Tribute to Fallen Soldiers

Bangkok’s BTS trains proudly display the Thai flag, honouring soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice during recent border clashes with Cambodia. This symbolic gesture follows a ceasefire agreement reached on 29th July, after weeks of escalating tension.

 

The conflict along the Thailand–Cambodia border ignited mid-July, resulting in significant losses: 17 Thai civilians and 15 soldiers perished. In a heartfelt tribute, the Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS) wrapped its trains in the national flag, inviting passengers to remember the bravery of those who defended their homeland.

 

Yesterday, the BTS’s Facebook page showcased images of these specially adorned trains, accompanied by a powerful message:

 

“The longest Thai national flag-draped train. The BTS Skytrain joins in honouring Thai heroes and brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect Thailand and national sovereignty by wrapping the train in the longest Thai national flag.”

 

The initiative sees these flag-covered trains operating across all 60 stations over three provinces. Moreover, the Thai national flag is prominently displayed on digital advertising media nationwide at 8am and 6pm daily. This striking display serves both as a tribute and a bold statement of national resilience.
