Two men have died in separate but potentially related motorcycle crashes on the Rama V roundabout overpass in Bang Kruai District, Nonthaburi. Police are investigating whether the incidents are connected or the result of a series of unfortunate collisions.

Officers from Bang Kruai Police Station and rescue personnel from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation were called to the scene on Nakhon In Road, heading towards Rama V Bridge, where they found two deceased motorcyclists at different points along the roadway.

At the site of the first collision, police discovered the body of Mr. Santi Thanok, 44, a security guard from Nakhon Ratchasima province. He was found beside a silver Isuzu pickup truck with Bangkok registration number, which showed visible damage to the rear right bumper. Nearby was his blue-black Honda Wave motorcycle (reg. from Bangkok).

Roughly 50 metres from that location, police found the second victim, Mr. Warasit Wongsawang, 46, a local resident of Nonthaburi. His yellow-black Honda Click (reg. from Bangkok) was lying on top of his body near the road barrier, which showed scrape marks, indicating that he may have collided with the edge before falling onto the road.

Mr. Thanitsak, 62, the driver of the Isuzu pickup, told officers that he had initially noticed a fallen motorcycle in the far-left lane and slowed down accordingly. He changed into the middle lane but soon returned to the left lane, switching on his hazard lights when his engine began to stutter. Moments later, a motorcycle riding behind collided with the rear of his vehicle at high speed.

Investigators are now working to determine whether Mr. Warasit’s crash occurred first and caused a hazard that contributed to Mr. Santi’s death. CCTV footage from the area will be reviewed, and further witness statements will be gathered.

Both bodies were transported to the Institute of Forensic Medicine. Police have recorded initial witness statements and are appealing to anyone who may have dashcam footage or further information about the crashes.
