The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the Royal Thai Police has conducted a two-day training programme focused on survival tactics during active shooter incidents. The sessions, held on 5–6 August at the EmSphere shopping mall in Bangkok, were aimed at equipping personnel with the knowledge and skills to respond effectively to such high-risk situations.

Organised in collaboration with the CIB Foundation and officers from the Special Operations Division, the training combined both theoretical instruction and practical exercises. Participants included mall staff, private security personnel and members of the public.

The programme covered key topics including how to recognise and respond to an active shooter threat, crisis management during armed incidents in public spaces and emergency response coordination. A highlight of the training was a simulated active shooter drill, designed to help participants practise real-time decision-making under pressure.

CIB officers emphasised the importance of situational awareness, quick assessment and adaptive action in ensuring survival during unexpected violent attacks.

The initiative reflects ongoing efforts by authorities to raise public preparedness and resilience in the face of growing concerns over public safety.
