Loei Immigration

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if Loei Immigration accepts the combination method for extension of stay with a Non-O visa and has used it recently? TIA

The thing with combination method is while it's generally accepted each immigration office may have certain "formula" they insist upon.

For example minimum 400k maintained in bank with appropriate monthly transfers.

Unless someone gives first hand recent experience, the best option is to check with your immigration office.

Thanks and you're right, I 'm looking for first-hand experience before contacting Immigration for confirmation and details.

Another thing that you have to be aware of, is what method you used previously for the year extension you're on now.

This is where we see offices saying 400k has to be banked.. The seasoning requirements for banked money method stipulate you needed to keep 800k in the bank for 3 months after the extension is granted, then the balance can't go below 400k the rest of the year..

So even if you're switching to combination method you'd still need 400k in the account to meet the requirements for the extension you're on before you even apply for the next yearly extension using combo method.

It goes without saying (but I'll say it anyway), you can't use combo method the very first year you get from a 90 non o. That's because you need 12 months of transfers.

I know several people who use it, Bangkok, Chiang Mai and another couple offices but each one of them has to bank 400k and then transfer in 34k each month for a year to meet the 800k total required..

Best of luck with it, also keep in mind, that's an out of the way back water immigration office up in "Nakhon Nowhere" , so I'd say take the bank book, proof of transfers, and head over there long before you need to get the extension to see what's what with them..
