A road crash occurred on the morning of 9 August, on Highway 2210 at Nong Kaeo Subdistrict, Hua Taphan District, Amnat Charoen, involving a Honda Jazz car and a bus operating the Bangkok-Khong Chiam route. The collision resulted in the death of the car’s driver.

Rescue teams from the Phetkasem Foundation in Amnat Charoen responded promptly after receiving an emergency call from the local 191 centre. At the scene near the Hua Taphan Technical College curve, the grey Honda Jazz, registered in Ubon Ratchathani, was found extensively damaged at the front. The driver, Mr. Sunan aged 53, a local resident of Nong Kaeo Subdistrict, was pronounced dead at the site.

Nearby, the bus, bearing Bangkok registration, had veered off the road after the collision, but sustained no major damage. All 27 passengers aboard were unharmed.

The police from Hua Taphan Station are investigating the cause of the collision and how the vehicles came to collide almost head on.
