The Malaysian Charge d'Affaires to Thailand, Bong Yik Jui accompanied by Pol Lt Gen Saksira Phueak-aam, Commissioner of the Tourism Police, has visited two Malaysian tourists injured in the fire incident on 7 August, offering them support and assurances of continued assistance.

On 9 August, the delegation visited the patients at the Police General Hospital and Chulalongkorn Hospital in Bangkok. The Charge d'Affaires, expressed concern for their welfare, while the Tourism Police Commissioner confirmed that dedicated officers had been assigned to the hospitals to provide close support.

These officers are facilitating foreign-language communication, liaising with hospital staff and coordinating with insurance companies to ensure swift and comprehensive assistance for the victims.

Pol Lt Gen Saksira also announced enhanced safety measures at major tourist destinations, in line with directives from the Minister of Tourism and Sports, to reassure foreign visitors and reinforce Thailand’s reputation as a safe travel destination.
